Thank you, Valerie! I’m a psychologist in Michigan, USA, with many patients who are creative by nature. I have been referring them to your channel, not only because of your interest and skills in art, but also because of the gentle wisdom that you share in your videos. I truly appreciate the calm encouragement that you offer your viewers, as well as your willingness to acknowledge your own struggles in life. On a personal note, I recently made the decision to reduce my work hours to only two days per week, in order to follow my own creative desires. I now spend four days per week writing, with a focus on writing fictional novels. It’s been my dream for many years to transition to freelance writing as a career. It’s been going very well and I’m absolutely loving the quiet lifestyle of being a writer. Thank you for the positive influence you’ve had on my own journey! I’ll continue to tune in to your videos for inspiration and encouragement. Best wishes!

11:25 "Be clear with your decisions: Yes or no."

14:23 "It feels great to hear that someone believes in you and pats on your shoulder, but that person is not always there for you. But you can always be there for yourself. "

17:42 "I hope you begin to believe in yourself more than ever, because nobody pats better than you on your own shoulder. "

Self-taught artists can be as sophisticated with both art and craft as people who are formally trained, and in our experience, they work every bit as hard. Who else noticed what the artist did with her tape, by the way? That's a great technique for reducing adhesive power so it will release from the paper without damage!

As an artist who was in the process of deleting all their socials because I felt like I’d never be good enough… thank you for this video. It brought a tear to my eye; we artists are so hard on ourselves sometimes and you’ve reminded me that I’ve come so far - I can’t give up. I have to keep going, and whose to say how far I’ll go? Thank you. Another incredible video!

Valerie, I just discovered your video channel and was so touched. You are the very person I needed to listen to at this time. I am 73 years old and never received much if any, encouragement in my life. I listened to the negative input from others but deep inside I believed I was different from what I always heard. I was an older adult before I realized that I enjoyed learning new things. I discovered Turkish drama and film and have become addicted to watching their dizis with English subtitles and learning the language simply by doing so. Due to many medical issues, I am restricted from doing activities that are physically taxing. I recently decided I wanted to learn how to do watercolor paintings. I am naturally attracted to colors. I love the softness and movement of the watercolors. I do not know how to draw, at all. But, I purchased some paints, and paper and began watching tutorials. I am enjoying it so much that my favorite part of each day is devoting time to my practice boards. You are an inspiration to so many people. Thank you for sharing your time and amazing talent, but most of all your inspiring words of encouragement and wisdom about life.

I love how you said “I was already good at painting”. Although it shouldn’t have, it still took me by surprise. I didn’t realize how ingrained it is to never acknowledge one’s own accomplishments or skills. I know this is simple but your words always stick with me. Love your videos!

I love how she vlogs her day like many other vloggers but the difference is she does not talk much about things that the whole world knows, she shows us how she gonna draw her pictures, things that not everyone knows, only people who draw know. It makes me feel interested in art although I don't draw well.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the time, effort and love Valerie puts into editing and filming her videos. As someone who just started their art YouTube channel videos like these take so much dedication 💞🌞🌱

I love and appreciate your emphasis about making "clear decisions". The talk is boring you? Leave. The painting doesn't interest you? Pass it. We all need this reminder because we often "just go through the motions" when we really ought to move on. We only have so much time and attention, and once spent, we can't get it back.

The fact that you chose to go against your parents' wishes and live your life the way you want it is proof of your bravery. You're so inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

Living in the 21st century and starting to teach yourself new things goes hand in hand and I’m so grateful to life in a time where we have access to the internet, where we built communities like this on, in Valerie’s comment section or when Valerie builds her PC and finds help and answers to every question from people who share their insight. You can learn so many new things basically for free because the internet gives you resources you wouldn’t have had in this quantity and quality even 50 years ago. When I have a question it just takes 2 seconds to find out an answer. That’s really powerful and I have to smile every time my grandma asks me how I learned to crochet (for example) and I just say “I went on YouTube and saw thousands of videos for free”. Just mind blowing

My dad is an extreme autodidact. He wasn’t in my life very much growing up, he tried his best, but he’s a huge inspiration for me.. especially growing up with traditional parents (mom and step dad) and belief systems. But he’s an architect and doesn’t have a college degree, tells me I can do anything and learn anything I can set my mind to, he’s living proof that can happen.

Quick tip from the IT girl - when placing RAM sticks in, make sure they are in odd or even slots. Unless you have only 2 then.. :) It speeds up access time to resources and for your graphics needs you might just need that. Good job and.. what a beautiful machine you have built! 👏👏👏 Love it.

This is the channel I've been looking my whole life. Only today I found it!!!.
I'm currently in med school 5th year.
I myself consider as a self taught person. Sometimes I do everything in reverse order and reinvent things.
Since childhood I really hated school because everything is so scripted and so organized. They don't go off limits of knowledge. It's like I love all the cool things in the world, and I just can't get enough of them.I always learn something new. I love music, pencil arts, acrylic paintings, languages, IT, mechanics, cooking, plumbing...I can go on and on.Last time I repaired back fan of my refrigerator and it worked!!!.Thank you soo much for your channel😊😇
I finally found my safe space.🥰🥺❤

My first gifts in life were to be a musician and sculptor. Growing up, I felt into the society patterns and I was struggling for years looking for a direction or purpose in life. In my early 20s I faced death twice, and survive! Then I got many great jobs, got nice income but I had ZERO chance to create. I almost let my creative power die. In 2009 I left home and move to the other side of the world, got into a relationship, more stress and anxiety. But music and art was always there to support my journey. I am so happy to see Valerie and found this gorgeous channel concept. Is a combination of VLOG+ART CREATION+PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT and have like a hipnotic feeling right? Love it. Wish you Valerie the best, whatever you are doing, keep harmony for yourself. And as you already know and can see here, your heART is bringing light to thousands of people around the world...including myself. THANK YOU! I will come to help soon too. :)
