Your muscles are like cheese 🧀

(Kind of. The metaphor kinda breaks down after a while. Also like cheese.)

But warming up can improve workout performance and reduce injury! This can also mean less soreness.

If you have an area that also seems to hurt after working out (like a wrist or ankle), warming up can sometimes help that.

Hope you've all been well! Back to making Shorts!

If you wonder why there's more podcast & mental health stuff during winter, it's partially because I like to film exercise content outdoors in good weather.

Being emotionally strong is always good as well. You don't want to get hit with that emotional damage constantly. Pain can help you grow but depression only devours without restraint. Stay safe and may peace be with you always.

I've never been a fan of warming up and often times won't warm video finally (and oddly enough) gave me the best explanation of why I should. Didn't think of it this way, thank you.

The connective tissues within, surrounding, and attaching at each end of every muscle body are viscoelastic in nature. The viscosity of those tissues is reduced when they undergo increases in temperature and pressure (warming up, massaging/rolling) — the reduced viscosity results in greater elasticity (stretch) and greater force potential (gains) with less risk of injury (woot!)

I’m a huge fan of yours, Hampton! Love this video and love the cheese stick analogy

This is why i recommend people to watch your videos. Everything you spit is logical man. It just makes sense, so its much easier to grasp. I never thought of working out like this, i just warmed up before a set to get cardio in or get more strength per set to do more reps since i noticed when im not warmed up my first set are my warm up since im not “used” to the weight yet for that new day. Amazing as always.
