I had a different error message coming up saying that the USB drive wasn't big enough. I was using a 32GB drive which was more than large enough. Had tried several methods including downloading a fresh copy of Windows 10 from microsoft, as well as creating one from a Windows 10 disc with no joy. Followed the instructions above and it worked a treat. Many thanks. :-)

I'm getting this error when trying to make a bootable usb with a windows 8.1 iso. I do not get the error immediately, but rather after several minutes in the "Copying Windows files" stage of the process. I always made sure the iso was unmounted before the process starts, but it continually fails on me. Any ideas?

Hi. I do not have a disk I just have an ISO file downloaded from the windows website. I keep running into this problem. In the comments below I saw you answered this question already but I was a bit confused on how to make a CDR copy of the file. Can you please take me through it step by step?
Thanks.

My window 8 download file include both x32bit and x64 bit combined and bootcamp won't let me proceed with the iso image because it only support x64 bit :(
