I actually prefer using the h265 format because of the file size. I edit on a Mac Studio M1 Max and a Macbook Pro M1 Pro and have no real issues with stuttering unless I speed up a clip by more than 400% or add a lot of effects or motion graphics. Does it stutter noticeably for you?

Nice. Mine is the Sony A7c so I don't have quite that many options but that was a great point, especially about the editing speed on PC. Also like how it's a looping video... clever editing.

I record with the 4k XAVC HS profile almost exclusively and my computer can edit it like a champ. I run Davinci Resolve Studio on a windows 11 PC AMD processor with a late model graffics card. There is slight lag when playing back, but I love being able to record up to 8 hours of footage on a single card

I've never understood why people have so many issues editing this file type when I don't. Is my rig atypical?
