Hollywood legend John Williams has just added to an already incredibly long list of achievements by making his conducting debut with the Wiener Philharmoniker to perform iconic themes from “Jurassic Park”, “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter”, among other cinematic landmarks. The concert held at Vienna’s Musikverein in January 2020 – which was also the first performance Williams had ever conducted in continental Europe – is available now. Also available in Dolby Atmos®.

Imagine being the French horn player at the beginning. Literally the most important intro lines to any soundtrack, all for you to play, by yourself, in front of the master composer who wrote it, all while he’s not even conducting you, just vibing to his own notes. I don’t think I could take that kind of pressure.

I'm getting emotional by just looking at John himself conducting. He's almost 90 years old and hasn't lost his spark. He's still enjoying what he does, he still smiles at the orchestra and still has passion for these moments! It's wonderful to witness.

Not sure if many of you caught this... but The deepest sign of respect from JW was given to the horn player in the beginning... a simple shutting of the eyes because that note was SO beautiful at :16 seconds... the horn player took just enough off of it to play it perfectly... THATS JW showing his deepest respect, bravo to that horn player.

My little daughter was reading me a book about dinasaurs so I told her, "wait, what if I put some nice music", obviously this epic theme was my selection. Then her eyes started sparkling and said: " its perfect !!!!" Thanks John, for your amazing creations !
