Aviation is an industry in which safety is the priority and the foundation principle behind every step taken. This can include a range of examples; from policy regulations and Standard Operating Procedures implementation to improving airport operations and designing new aircraft. One such example is the Cirrus Aircraft Company, which has revolutionized general aviation with its top-notch aircraft designs and features, and its vision for safety. So, what exactly makes the Cirrus company unique and impactful for future generations of aircraft?

As someone who has logged about 700 hours in the SR series, I do like the SR-22. For a fixed gear, four place A/C, it is a nice aircraft to fly and the performance is state of the art. If I was in the market for a four place aircraft, I'd probably look elsewhere as the price tag is steep for a new aircraft.

Not sure why a 15 minute video is needed to say "YES"

With the word "overrated" in the title, I thought this would be more of a frank discussion than a blatant commercial message.

2:53 CAPS was "borne out of" Alan Klapmeier having survived a midair collision in the Eighties; the pilot of the other plane did not. The parachute did later serve as an alternative means of compliance for the SR-series to satisfy stall/spin requirements, but it was already designed into the SR20 long before those tests began.

IMO when bashing Cirrus in favor of a cessna 172/182, you sound like GM in the 70's who laughed at Toyota.

The one issue I have with the CAPS system, is that pilots could come to reliant on it and use in areas it could cause more harm then good! In the example shown in this video what if instead of softly landing on the lawn infront of a building say its a school, it lands about 200 ft back and crashes through the roof of a Classroom full of kids? Its a good safty system when knowingly used in areas with minimal risk of collatoral damage and casulties! Used though in more densely populated areas, you're playing russian roullete! In these areas it should be used as a last resort, not at the first sign of trouble!

Fouga Magister
Beechcraft Bonanza
Subsonex
Cirrus Jet
Rizen Ultralight
( There are also an iranian VTail and the F117 but they are hardly available for general aviation)
Do you know some others ?

For the cost difference, I’d prefer to fly a bonanza or Comanche
This appears to be a paid commercial

Lancair is better for a 1/4 of the cost!!

QUIT doing that stutter jump between frames. It's EXTREMELY ANNOYING. I"m not one of them fortunately, but I can imagine all the seizures you're triggering.

Cessna 172 are the bestselling aircraft of all time. It sounds like you do not perform a lot of research into your subject matter. For Cirrus the CAPS handle is in the roof and the rocket and chute are in the baggage compartment, not the roof. I stop0ped listening to your video at 4 minutes, can't stand BS.

I would be a Cirrus fan but with the airframe and engine manufactures being owned by the Chinese Communist Party, I will pass.
Auto-land getting hacked and becoming auto crash, auto kidnap, auto repo, auto assassinate, would make me a little nervous if I were a big fish that someone would want out of the way.
I am having new Garmin stuff put in my plane as I write this, I am not happy some of the parts are Chinese. I am getting a JPI Engine monitor, it claims to be made in California, where I was made, likely with Chinese parts….
