Have you ever wondered what it’s like to own a private plane?

Join me as I break down the true costs of owning a Cirrus SR22T and reveal how you can potentially own this incredible aircraft for practically nothing.

A couple of years ago, I bought a 3-year-old Cirrus SR22T. In this video, I'll go over the fixed and variable costs of ownership and explain why I chose this airplane over cheaper options. Discover the features that make the SR22T stand out, from its advanced avionics and safety systems to its impressive performance and comfort.

Why I Chose the Cirrus SR22T:

My choice: 2-year-old model for newer avionics and safety features

Insurance: $3,800 to $5,000 per year
Hangar Fees: $4,800 to $12,000 per year

Variable Costs:
Fuel: $124 per hour

Total Annual Costs (100 flight hours):

Fixed Costs: $16,600

As an SR22 owner your numbers are a bit off. The parachute repack with line cutters, rockets, etc is around $25k. A new engine with labor and all parts is around $85k for a NA and $135k for a turbo. TBO is 2200, although some turbos need a top overhaul at 1100 or so.

But what’s interesting is that my SR22 is the best thing I’ve ever bought. The boat was the worst (sold it). I use it so much for work. It turns 4 hour in traffic drives into 45 minute flights. Make that into a round trip and you’re saving 6.5 hours of travel time. Priceless.

The cost to own and operate a Cirrus SR-22 are ridiculous high. Aviation in general has become crazy expensive. This guy in the video has to be very wealthy to think it's affordable.
