For those who haven't yet collected enough patterns for a filing cabinet, this system works in lever arch files. I use it for knitting and crochet patterns as most pattern collections and magazines will fit into the sleeves. Easy for storing band labels for washing reference too.

I am not sure I would like to separate envelope form the pattern, though I like the idea of having the file as a catalogue so I think I would adapt your idea and photo copy the pattern envelope for the lever arch file.

I need a filling cabinet… I never thought of the binder for the envelope, do you add notes for what you have used the pattern for in the binder or the bag … because I always feel like that’s necessary
