I envy your vulnerability. It’s truly refreshing to see another man be so open. Before your diagnosis and starting your medication where capable of being this honest. I struggle with ADHD and am in the process of my official diagnosis. I suffer from rsd and am hoping starting medication will help this.

I remember Adderall making me super hyper focused when I was on 45 mg a day as a kid (30 ir morning 15 mg afternoon). Made my mind feel so slow I felt like a zombie and I would ignore friends after school just to study till it wore off. I feel a lot better taking 10 mg twice per day as a adult still helps and I feel like myself. I think the dose that I was on as a kid would give me anxiety now.

I’m a woman so my experience may be different from a man. I do relate a lot to being distracted a lot without medication and having to try to maintain focus in order to “get into it” even if I was enjoying it. My mind could pull me out a lot and it made my partner think I wasn’t enjoying it. It used to take a long time of them doing something very specific for me to arrive and it would require a lot of fantasies in my head while the act was going on.

Now I have found that my imagination isn’t as vivid on the meds but I don’t need to imagine things to get going anymore. Probably tmi but I came super fast last time and it was super intense. So I’m not mad at it lol

Lil too descriptive but i remember being in 140mg vyvanse and I was “choking the chicken” from 9pm-5:30am which is when I have to wake up for school.

Just curious have you heard of people that are sensitive to the Levoamphetamine in Adderall and did better on a pure dextroamphetamine medication like Dexedrine? I hear Levoamphetamine can have a greater impact on physical side effects like increased heart rate, breathing rate etc than just pure dextro in some people.

My rested heart rate is normally 50-60s off medication and my Adderall it gets close to 100 sometimes for about an hour and a half than drops into the low 80s-70s the rest of the duration. Been back on it for about a month. Other stimulants like coffee & don't seem to increase my heart rate at all.

Adderall at nearly any dose ramps up my sex drive to the point where I feel like a lunatic. Actually a lot of the side effects of adderral are pretty bizarre for me. I had to discontinue it.

How does one approach a doctor tho about this ..because they seem to want to put people on things that do not work..my boyfriend has ADHD, OCD and high level autism...he is such a nice man and I want him to be able to get the help he needs, to be able to focus so what would you even tell the Doctor's..? So, if my drive and irritability was higher the first few weeks and now it seems to have faded away, that could mean my dose is low? Doc and I assumed since it gave me elevated and/ HR that going high was a bad idea and she switched me to Vyvanse and it's kinda the same thing less irritable tho. Is that something if I increased it, I may get my motivation back and adjust to the moodiness?
