Did you know that I also post long form videos? Apparently they are even better than my short videos 😉

Food Theory made this technique even better, by slicing it in an angle

Him: It’s 2024 so don’t cut your sandwich in triangles. Me: I CAN CUT MY SANDWICH HOW EVER I WANT.

When you want to cut square equally into 3 pieces, but you don't know math:

Here's proof btw:
When he starts cutting sandwich, he tells us to start at the center of the bottom and cut halfway into the middle (he doesn't mention at what angle we need to cut, but, by video sequence, we can assume that he means cut perpendicular to the side of the sandwich). By "cut halfway into the middle" he very likely means to cut to the perpendicular bisector of an adjacent side of the sandwich. From all this information it follows, that first cut ends at the centre of the sandwich (each point on a perpendicular bisector is equidistant from the endpoints of the bisected line segment and the center of the square is also its center of symmetry), therefore cut length is equal to the half of the sandwich's side (I hope I don’t need to explain why a segment perpendicular to the side of a square and connecting its opposite sides is equal to its side).
Now we have all what we need to start calculating the area of each segment. Let's assume that one side length is 1. We have two equal-sized rectangular trapeziums with A=((a+b)/2)h and one isosceles triangle with A=1/2*ah (A=area; a, b=bases; h=height drawn to the base). Trapeziums' A=(1+0, 5)*0, 5/2=0, 375, and triangle's A=1/2*1*0, 5=0, 25.
