Always use a folded over towel like the video shows or lay the half with the pit on a damp bunched up towel on a cutting board to wack the pit safely. Make sure to use a sharp (not dull) knife, the sharp knives don't slip like the dull ones do.

In Latin America it's a common thing to cut avocados, we are all surprised by this but I guess it's because there are not a lot of avocado at other countries

UK just posted advisory on "avocado hand", caused by cutting one's hand while peeling/pitting an avocado. Who knew this was a common injury in ERs?

Thx m8. Trying to eat more fiber as I'm from Ohio and a lot of the food I grew up eating has almost zero fiber except for corn and chili. think I might make a chef salad with iceberg, ham, chicken, cheddar, hardboiled eggs, avocado, and ranch.
