Frankie is shown to age in group photos in the episode “The Big Picture” unlike all other imaginary friends. Plus McCraken has debunked this theory multiple times on his twitter.

Creator show confirmed that the theory isn’t true.

The creator of the show said that Frankie did have an imaginary friend of her own but her father made her give it up
I guess growing up with Mr Harriman constantly on his back drove him crazy and that’s why he made Frankie give up her imaginary friend.
Geese Harriman must of drove Frankie’s folks into insanity.

Always annoys me how people insert the autistic diagnosis on a character to create a "logical" theory.

There is a problem with the Mac part of the theory. They showed he had a mom and brother he lives with.

This is a cool theory but Frankie actually did create and have imaginary friends, remember the little squiggly things that she created when she was a toddler and they had to be locked away but when blue and Mack let them out the while house found out that those squiggly imaginary friends were actually very helpful but also making everyone lazy

Edit: Whole

I can understand how the first one could make sense but the second one…… someone needs to get their kid off of creepypasta forms..

One way to debunk the whole Frankie is imaginary friend is to remember the scribbles episode. If she wear an imaginary friend there would be no way she could be imaginary.

Also in same episode it showed her young, we haven't seen any imaginary friends age

I had a theory like that once. Madame Foster imagined having children/grandchildren, but was unable. Being the imaginitive woman that she is, she ended up creating Frankie.
Yes, we see evidence of Frankie being a child/growing up, but consider: Children create imaginary friends who "never change". Madame Foster, on the other hand, created an imaginary grandchild who could grow up-- BUT, would stop aging in her 20's so she could stay young and have enough energy to help out.
This is why Frankie never moves out, talks about/visits with her parents, and makes it her job to take care of the other Friends.

...My NEW theory is that Frankie is adopted. Basically, she was supposed to go to a foster home, but there was a misunderstanding and she was brought to Foster's Home. Madame Foster decided to take her in, and they have been close ever since.

Frankie has no fantastical features, though. Even Goofball McGee, the one that could almost pass as a human, had a fantastical feature (ie an elephant trunk for a nose).

While the fact that Frankie doesn't seem to have an imaginary friend of her own is an interesting piece of evidence to support the theory that she is an imaginary friend herself, it was shown in Land Of The Flea that imaginary friends can imagine other imaginary friends when Eduardo's imaginary dog Chewie imagined his fleas as payback for making him take a bath.

Yeah.. this theory doesn’t add up. Frankie did have an imaginary friend named scribbles when she was younger.

They made it up together while grandma has Mr. Harriman he also needed Frankie who never lost her belief in imaginary friends, so they decided to make Fosters together

If I remember correctly there was an episode about these it was like a swarm of chirping things that they said in the episode where the first imaginary Friends created by a baby witch in the flashback was shown to be a very very young Frankie

craig mccracken said that this theory isn't true

Well, my theory is that the fosters home is an asylum, the imaginary friends are the creator's alter ego, that's why mac and blue are so different, but they're the same person. So its not imaginary friends in the house, its schizophrenic children

Frankie isn’t just unable to make one. She’s just a human that can’t imagine up one like the humans who adopt imaginary friends

ah yes, the cartoon that I loved that made me wish my imaginary friend should've been psychically real, but then again maybe it's a good thing she can't psychically be real, since she's the strongest dog in the universe and her powers would be incredibly dangerous (and I mean that by accident to, since she is a heroine and she doesn't mean to cause trouble while saving the day) I still draw her all the time, she is now my main OC for roleplay and everything else

It's an interesting theory, but I remember an episode where they show that Franky created the scribbles.

you are confusing theory with fan fiction. the first one was a theory, the 2nd was straight up fan fiction.
