Pull Ups vs Chin Ups | Differences & Benefits

Pull ups and chin ups look very similar, but there is this one little detail making them sp different: the grip. Depending on how you grab the bar (pronated or supinated) the whole mechanics changes. Different muscles groups are activated in pull ups and chin ups - and in this video we will reveal them all.

Generaly said, pull ups target and predominantely engage your back muscles / posterior muscle chain, while chin ups engange the anterior muscle chain (chest, abs, etc). Depending what your goal is, next time you are about to do pull ups or chin ups, think about if it's maybe worth it to exchange them.

To maximize biceps growth, chin ups should be your choice. But take care! Never train only chin ups or only pull ups - keep your body in a balance and make sure to include all different kinds of exercises to avoid imbalances.

Great break down on the terminology here bro! You always make things so interesting and entertaining to learn. I prefer pull ups but if I am trying hit the biceps I go with chin ups. But yes got to have a mix of em.

Not chest... chinups don't do anything for your chest (aside from maybe a bit of balancing)
