This is a 150cc or 50cc scooter troubleshooting video where I figure out why my scooter will not idle and runs poorly. I check the CDI, fuel and vacuum lines, ignition coil and spark plug, valves, and check the carburetor. The solution is something unusual.

Will definitely try this tonight when I get home. My GY6 150 has been doing this recently. You couldn’t have explained it better.

Wish I watched this video before taking my bike to the mechanic, he did the same steps but didn't use a multimeter. This video is very very helpful.

I am 71 years old and bought a trike in Aug 2021. It's a 2021 and spends most of it's time in the shop. Right now it's doing exactly the same thing yours is doing. Going in the shop mon 3 Jan 2022. Thanks for the video, so when they talk to me this time I will understand if they know what they're talking about.

I just had the same thing it was the petcock letting petrol in the vacuum pipe I put on new clear fuel pipes and saw it running down the pipe to the vac inlet to the engine so look out for that.

I had a problem where it wouldn't start..that's what it was. The metal piece that attaches to the plug was actually on the plug. Replaced the coil and it fired right up 👍 Then after that the fuel vacuum diaphragm started leaking.. making it run rough on warm starts and a couple of times hard starting. Replaced the vacuum diaphragm and carb..if the diaphragm goes bad again I'm gonna replace it with a on/off petcock.

Awesome video! I really enjoyed it - keep grinding and keep up the great work.

it has to be the carb or the vacume operated fuel valve from tank

It's unbelievable, how you went completely backwards on the checking sequence!
Starting with the CDI is, let's say, amusing! Valves, etc... While leaving the main culprit (carb) to last. ;-)
The simple fact that, otherwise, it started and run. Set aside all the other gimmicks. As main actors. Surely a decent valve adjustment improve things. Surely a plug boot in one piece also help, etc. But idle issues 99% take you straight to the carburetor. The rest comes after.
Please check K.I.S.S ;-)

Valve adjustment is so dreadful that you went through all that just so you wouldn’t have to check valves LOL amen brother!

I'm late to this video, but before I pull out the carburetor, I want to spray some cleaner on it. It has sat for a while. I cannot figure out where to spray it. I need some more detail on where the air intake and carb part are located and perhaps what they look like. Some videos address the issue, but they don't take it to the finish line.
