So no registration, no DL and probably no insurance, a perfect trifecta of stupidity. And this is why we pay 3x more for Auto Insurance than any other state. When she hits your car and totals it, too bad for you since she has no insurance. He should have impounded the vehicle since it is not registered nor is it insured.

Did she just say “ok..it’s not my first time going to jail”?!?! Wow! So…you would rather pay all the fines and go to jail vs getting a damn drivers license?? Now that is what you call STUPID!

This is how a traffic stop should be conducted. The driver cooperates and will be bailed out of jail in a few hours. The officer is helpful when the driver is respectful.

Here in Louisiana, if you don’t have insurance, it’s an automatic tow. And before it’s released, you’re required to have insurance, valid DL and valid registration. She saved herself around $2, 000. The longer you wait, the more storage you accumulate.

The car should be towed for no registration or insurance. Its the only way these people will learn that they ain't gonna save any money by not having it.

When I worked traffic I spotted expired tags everywhere. 90% of the time, they had no insurance, had no license, and sometimes were DWI. And yet, if they had merely renewed their registration, I wouldn’t have even had a reason to stop them.

So they were allowed to pick up the car that she drove w/o a license again but with an expired registration this time…

This is a great example how cooperating with police and not throwing a lot of drama will make them more willing to help you in return.

She was a polite young lady who handled arrest in a mature manner. Sorry she didn't take care of business. The whole situation is sad but fair.
