When a police officer pulled over a black truck for speeding, he probably was not expecting this awkward encounter with Sheriff Chris Bryant of Carter County, Oklahoma. The police officer says Bryant was driving 37 mph in a 25 mph zone and asks for his driver’s license. Bryant responds with “I’m the Sheriff. I’m not giving you my driver's license.” Sheriff Bryant has since apologized. This traffic stop was recorded on the officer’s body camera. #InsideEdition

It’s crazy that he doesn’t feel like giving his drivers license simply because he’s the sheriff.

"Im the sheriff of this county"
Translation: "I'm above the law"

Him stepping out of the car after being told to stay put is a straight ego move😂

If it wasn’t in social media they would’ve been no apology

Apologized only because he’s publicly humiliated.

An example of a man who let's power and status go to his head

He apologized for being displayed to the world for his ridiculous behavior, not for being remorseful.

It’s disgusting that the same guy that would demand something from others refuses to do the same. His apology is meaningless because if someone did that to him the would have additional charges, hiring an attorney and suffer even if the win. Fire him. He is a disgrace.

Yeah, the sheriff should have gotten a ticket like anyone’s else! SMH.

This guy should be fired from his job. This guy really thought he was above the law and wanted to use his position to excuse his behavior. He’s not the type of guy who should be leading the police.

Imagine someone else jumped out of the car and walk towards a cop like that.

Something similar to my dad happened. He's a fire chief, so it's a bit different, but people know his face. Guy pulls him over for doing about 65 in a 45, and my dad goes "it'll be fine" in an entitled tone. He got a ticket

If he treats cops like that imagine how he treats the people he pulls over.

You could just tell by his actions that he thinks he’s above the law. Someone should investigate this guy

Of course he had a change of heart once he realised a bodycam was involved.

That’s a form of bullying that officer probably was scared he would lose his job

If any normal civilian refused to give their license to a cop like that it would've gone down differently

He should get a ticket then fired. If this wasn’t on camera he wouldn’t be apologizing.

give him a ticket.
give him a ticket.
actually, write him up for speeding, and for not handling over his ID.
