I grew up with dogs with traditional training (shock collars and generally poor training overall) and thought that was the way. It took me 2 minutes of your videos (a couple weeks back) to realize my entire assumption about how to train dogs was wrong. Got a new puppy on 2/13/21. She is a rescue from Texas that someone threw on the side of the road with her two sisters when they were a few weeks old. So happy she is with me. Been watching Zak's videos since and Fiona's really making progress. It's a little tough because I have 2 other girls, 12 and 4.5 yrs. They both want to be part of the training LOL. She's very smart and alert. Love these videos.

I think this works like lot of other training stuff when you have a treat in your hand. My dog's full attention is on treat and they ignore open doors. When he see's treats are gone or I have no treat, all training is out the door.

Just had to comment that this method works!! I followed it very closely for my Pomsky with little training treats and he no longer runs out when I open the door or when people arrive at the house. THANK YOU
