“Rheumatology is my daddy” is a phrase that runs through my head on a loop since this sketch first dropped

I just love how Bill goes from a normal resident to the forever in dreadful anguish Bill

Poor Bill, he seems to be the whipping boy for the specialties. Let’s all get together and get Bill a spine!👏🏼😂

Shout out to the Rheumatology Drs that actually understand, diagnose, and treat “rare” autoimmune diseases! We need way more of them.

So a few years ago my Rheumatologist asked if I would mind an intern observing my visit which would include trigger point injections. I worked with this intern it turned out when he was on the floors at the hospital I worked at. I knew I worked a physically demanding job if long hours. Him hearing and seeing how much pain I was in daily and still working shocked him. As did the fact that I barely reacted to the needle in my extremely tight, extremely painful muscles. Because yes I was in so much pain *that didn't really register*. It was a wonderful teaching moment for him that 8/10 pain isn't always screaming and crying. When it's normal for you, you lean to cope. Bless rheumatologists for getting me from a daily 8/10 to a daily 5/10.

Poor bill can’t catch a single break at this god forsaken hospital. It reminds me of Ted from scrubs

Ahhh, Rheumatology. The general practitioner of "patient has pain, catch!" lol

Everyone knows that you only consult Rheumatology when every other specialist comes up blank on a diagnosis and the primary team throws a Hail Mary that maybe the patient has Lyme disease.

Half the stuff here flies over my head but still manages to be funny by the acting alone.

My Rheumatologist saved my life. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis at 13, couldn't walk or even use a wheelchair as it was in my arms too. Skipped many months of school and felt like an outcast. Not only did she help me medically, with getting on the right medication and exercises, but she was like a therapist and comforted my little kid brain. I recall googling images of arthritis and breaking down in tears. She'd shut my phone down and just say "those people are 70, you are a baby, and look! your fingers are right there and dandy"

Is this why my pain doc laughed so hard when I wrote on my intake as an answer to the question "What makes your pain worse?" and I wrote "Rheumatologists." 🤣

A rheumatologist saved my life. Not literally, although I’m sure they do that for others, but I have a debilitating chronic joint condition that is rare enough that *I* have to explain to the *doctor’s* I see what it is. By sheer luck, the first doctor I went to when I started exhibiting symptoms was a rheumatologist. She immediately knew what was going on. I owe her so much. Rheumatologists out there - you’re doing God’s work.

Oh the accuracy. The history of joint pain and random ana test coming back positive.. and 4 years later of... "Well we're not sure what's wrong with you" i finally got diagnosed with eds. Which is what my gp sent me to rheumatology for.

I work for a Rheumatologist/Immunologist and this is scary accurate
The part about the positive ANA is like 70% of new patient and doctor calls we get throughout the day 🤣🤣

This is way too real! My PhD candidacy was on interleukins; I can confirm new cytokine news has people like this lol.

As a Scleroderma patient the skit hits Home, nobody knew nothing until reuma got my results, now I'm being taken care of

As a lupus patient this is exactly what my pcp did when she sent me to rheumatology! My rheumatologist is amazing I was diagnosed within two weeks of my onset where most patients float around with the Bills of the world for an average of a year.
