It's nice to see that there is somebody neurology fears

Yes we can smell the neurologists, so run as much as you like... WE WILL FIND YOU!

If only every neurologist made that face upon entering a hallway

Yes, that is the definition of a curbside consult. You forgot to mention “and you won’t get paid but you might get sued”.
And yes, we all do it.

Using "House" as the doctor version of "Sherlock" is something I desperately hope is common

Neurologist normally: Condescending smartass
Neurologist when dealing with internists: "I've got to get out of here"

Here we see a wild Neurologist that has strayed from its speciality herd into the internal medicine ward. Unfortunately for him, the internists here have long since been on the hunt for fresh prey. The Neurologist strikes his tuning fork and clicks his examination lamp in a desperate effort to communicate with his lost brethren but it is already too late: The internists have already taken up his trail of reflex hammers and books full of untreatable disease descriptions.

I have no clue what’s going on in like, 90% of any of these videos, however having a small insight in the insane world of medicine feels…Fascinating. Still no clue what’s going on tho.

That was hilarious. I'm not in healthcare but I can imagine that how it can be sometimes lmao

If you have a rare case on the ward, sometimes the length of rounds is determined by the time it takes for all the extra med students and registrars (residents) to file into and arrange themselves around a small hospital room.

As an intern in neurology I can confirm that the last sentence is completely and absolutely accurate. Also the face develops gradually around the second year of residency.

An hour later, nephrology wandered past and changed everything.

This is beyond accurate. I remember all these times where I simply refused to hang up and kept going in circles trying different tactics in order to trap neurology or ID into saying these words that would greatly help me deal with my own insecurities by displacing liabilities.

Not gonna lie, this vid hit different. I have sat here for 10 minutes laughing my ass off with absolute mirth rewatching this because it's so well executed. The bits are all on a level of excellence that is absolutely top shelf. This is a side of Neuro that is hinted at but rarely shown - a glimpse of his "soul". The character development is impressive, it feels like I'm watching different people actually reacting to each other in real time. That in and of itself speaks to the quality of editing that makes this look so effortlessly filmed, almost as if you're seeing a single live shot. Honestly, this is an all around exquisite work of art. And the fact that this is a one man production without a fancy set/setup/rig/crew makes it that much more impressive. Thank you for the work that you're doing, your positive influence and impact on culture is very much appreciated. <3

I love how House MD just becomes an established terminology for rash treatment pre-proper diagnosis lol

I recently had a cardiology round go from 9am to 7pm... I was supposed to be working until 5pm that day 😭 and the struggle of balancing fluids and diuretics in patients with heart failure and acute kidney injury is REAL

Internal medicine - or general internal medicine (in Commonwealth nations) - is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases.

Doctors specializing in internal medicine are called internists, or physicians (without a modifier) in Commonwealth nations.

Internists are medical specialists that are skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes.

Internists care for hospitalized (inpatient) and ambulatory (outpatient) patients and may play a major role in teaching and research.

Internists are qualified physicians with postgraduate training in internal medicine and should not be confused with "interns", a term for doctors in their first year of residency training.

Internal medicine and family medicine are often confused as equivalent in the United States and Commonwealth nations.

Because internal medicine patients are often seriously ill or require complex investigations, internists do much of their work in hospitals.

Internists often have subspecialty interests in diseases affecting particular organs or organ systems.

The certification process along with the list of possible sub-specialties vary around the world.

Internal medicine is also a specialty within clinical pharmacy and veterinary medicine.

I have absolutely no intention of becoming a doctor and I've never even met a med student, but I keep coming back to these videos for some reason. They are equally entertaining and educational
