I went to light gauge strings and never went back. Even changed my 12 string acoustics to .009's. The 007s and 008's are a blast though on an electric. Takes a minute to lighten your touch to not distort them when just noodling around.

Playing Metal with .09 on D standard felt so much better to me. I felt I had more control over the strings and I could kinda feel like Dimebag. I never returned to .010
