Today's Vlog:
Rejection sensitivity,
Chicken Avocado Salad,
Ayla the Sweetcorn Queen,
Bittersweet watching dogs age.

I am 100% Isaac inherited his emotional sensitivity rom me. I was such a sensitive girl growing up but if anything; it helped me become the person I am today. I trust in all run it will work out so well with Isaac. I imagine most children (and adults) struggle with rejection sensitivity. Nobody wins constantly throughout life and if anything, losing can be so very good for us. Isaac now acknowledges that his friend is very good for him. They can help motivate each other to better.

Wishing you a peaceful weekend!

Love, Lindy xo

Not sure why, but I haven't watched a Bubz vlog for maybe 3 or 4 years. It was comforting to see this. The kids have grown so much! The fitness routine reminds me that I should be doing a fitness routine too.
All the best xx

i love the era you're in. Enjoy some wine and trashy tv before productivity. I appreciate that you push Isaac to do things outside of his comfort zone in a thoughtful manner. Learning how to lose, do hard things, and keep going in spite of the challenges is huge for personal growth that'll serve him beyond school years. I've had to do that a lot this year as a third grade teacher and a lifetime partner; some students who did very well in previous school years really struggled with being challenged academically this year, and I've been pushing my partner to try new things even if he's afraid of failure. "It's okay to be scared, but do it scared anyway."

From my experience with a 30 yr old neurodivergent child, the things they are good at is sometimes a way for them to process their feelings. That’s why video games are so calming, it stops the cycle of over thinking, you know the voices in their head causing the anxiety. For some of these amazing kids, competition takes away the purpose.

Something about the last bit where you sipped wine and munching cheese while watching as you said trashy tv (lol) made me smile really big here. I felt a comfort there because I feel more than the world The people the relations, we need just one me to myself time, doing whatever, not thinking about future or past just that present moment. Feels good. ❤ Looking forward for more videos bubz.

Isaac is lucky to have you as his mum ☺️ I love how attentive and understanding you are towards his emotions, especially as a sensitive and emotional person myself :')

I’m at a point in life where responsibilities are demanding more from me and I don’t have time to check socials or do any hobbies, really. Weekends are when I have a bit more time, and I love catching up with you and your family; it always feels comforting, like coming back home to catch up with a family or friend. Seeing Granny Bubz and you garden, how much the kids have grown (good Lord!! Little Peanut and little Acorn lol), the doggies lovely as always!!

Don’t worry momma. Isaac is still very young. My son was just like Isaac…didn’t like being in the spotlight, center of attention …to the point he didn’t want to compete in tennis even though the coach recommended it…it changed by 8th grade where he played on the MS tennis team and this year he’s on JV team.
You are a good momma. Just read your child as best as you can and not push too hard because it’s their path/journey to overcome their challenges at their own pace. He will eventually get there. Trust in that. ❤

as a neurodivergent person, myself, i wish i had a mom like you -- i can tell you really care for isaac and listen to his needs, its very sweet to hear that you gave him the choice to go through the assembly or not ❤

Hi Lindy, i used to go on competitions where i had to showcase my work on stage infront of an audience. what helped was acknowledging other emotions other than the anxiousness. Kinda like a friend group for your anxious emotion. Once i acknowledge excitement, the joy of being selected, etc the anxious feeling doesnt seem so forward. The feeling leading up to an event is always alot scarier than actually doing it. I hope Isaac can experience this

Has your son been diagnosed? If not, please get him assessed by a mental health professional asap, because all that anxiety has a source. Getting an early diagnosis in life will help sooo much in setting your child up for success. You've talked once or twice about maybe having ADHD, rejection sensitivity and sensitivity in general are super common ADHD symptoms. Maybe you've passed it down to your child...
