I saw Ray Charles when I was 18 years old at Steel Pier in Atlantic City. He had the Raelets on back up vocal but had a young virtuoso on Hammond B3. It was Billy Preston who was amazing.

Ray Charles had the entire crowd in the palm of his hands! What a fantastic showman. To this day one of the best concerts I have ever seen and I have seen all the best.

Amazing as usual the Genius of Ray I had the joy of enjoying 2 live concerts, one of them at the International Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato Mexico and the other at the Michigan Jazz Fest.

The trombone's voice almost somehow resembles Mr. Charles'. Such a miraculous event, band and R.C. Thankyou :)

Brilliant concert in every way! Ray is (was) another unique entertainer that cannot be copied. A treasure who could cross genres.
He could touch hearts of the young and old alike. He straddled ethnicity and class boundaries. He was the only Ray Charles!

I saw Ray Charles and his big band in 1982. He is so active during his performance, many times, I thought he will fall off his elevated piano bench!
