Fun fact. Last years leader in defensive rating was Sam hauser. Mostly because teams would see him and go away from their defensive plan to attack him and he held his own for the most part.

The Celtics bench aint that bad, its just largely unproven. Sam Hauser is a straight shooter kinda like Duncan Robinson with better defensive but worse movement off the ball. Pritchard is a shifty small guard that can shoot lights out but is hella inconsistent (Granted his role was inconsistent). Then they are banking on the development of Oshae Brisset, Lamar Stevens, Dalano Banton, Jordan Walsh. But we cant expect them to have the bench depth they have had before with the kind of talent they have in the starting line-up

Report came out that Jrue was a Clipper because Boston was hesitant to include Rob Will and Brogdon. Once they added em to the trade package and matched the Clippers 2 firsts, Jrue officially became Celtic

I loveeee this trade for the Celtics. Jrue is going to fit so nice into that team. I can’t picture a greater defensive team. I think Jrue and Porzingas (sorry for the spelling) are also offensive improvements compared to who they are replacing from last season. I am a little worried about the playmaking and depth aspects of this team. However, healthy I think this team is going to be dominant on both sides of the ball

As much as I am hesitant about getting rid of Smart, Grant, Brogdon, and Williams in the same offseason, I love a forward thinking mindset for a team. Continuing to try to run it back with an identical core year after year doesn't work and constantly trying to improve and upgrade even if it means making some tough decisions is the better option.

They had an 8 man rotation last year down to 6. Depth kinda scares me also when you remember there is Al Horford who is 37 years old in one of those key rotation players. They need to find a way to increase that depth.

I love what Brad Stevens is doing, he traded away some good players but found a way to upgrade the team. The bench is unproven but seems like it's filled with athletic guys, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White will terrorize opposing backcourts. Holiday is a guy that Brad Stevens has coveted for a few years and capitalized on the opportunity to get him.

Got to say Kenny, you have provided THE BEST take I have heard on this trade I have heard. From the heart, great joy for the game and a realistic and balanced assessment of what this trade means for Boston. Personally as a fan for nearly 20 years, Boston has been consistent in its success in the last 5 years, but this is the type of move that can take this team to the next level. Cannot understate the importance of these guys just spending time and building chemistry.

as a bucks fan, I knew this trade was going to happen the moment I saw Jrue got traded from Milwaukee. I'm beyond devastated to see him with arguably our biggest problem these past years. Wish him well, but DAMN IT this sucks
