Lol! I've been told for decades "you can't fix that". If someone engineered it, someone can fix it, can do attitude goes a long way and you learn a lot over time which provides you with the knowledge to fix it.

Was reading your beginners guide and noticed an error.

 

Around page 26 there is a page headed with Resistors resist the flow of current.

 

the top two points read as follows.

 

You will have the same amount of voltage on each side of an individual resistor

You will have less voltage on the other side of a resistor.

 

I think the socond point should read You will have less current on the other side of a resistor.

 

This might be wrong as im a total beginner hence me reading the guide.

Great job Louis. I listen to your video's daily whilst I work my coding job. At 7:36 I see keyboard marks on the screen. Every MacBook I see out in the wild has these marks on the screen, mostly permanent. Surely some simple math during the design phase would have ensured the keyboard never comes into contact with the screen? or am I oversimplifying things? My kids $200 Dell doesn't do this.

hey Louis, can the SSD's be replaced by unsoldering and soldering a bigger one or are they tied to the T2 chip? Scotty over at Strange Parts has upgraded the storage on an iPhone from 16GB to 128GB by unsoldering and resoldering a bigger chip.

You don't even need a datasheet to know what that resistor is for. It's clearly part of some sort of (maybe reference) voltage divider. Those in turn do not tend to work too well when one resistor is open. Why they would use R values as high as 1M3/215k on a 2.7 V rail that is not likely to operate unless the machine is actually running is anyone's guess. That's under 2 µA of current, or 5 µW of power dissipation (hardly stressful even for 1/20 W parts). I would assume individual variations in NAND chips to account for far more.
