Just because these reactants are limited doesn’t mean your understanding will be! Limiting reactants or limiting reagents are explained in a simple, quick and visually pleasing way to help simplify Chemistry. This video shows step by step examples of limiting reactants and when to convert moles to grams and grams to moles. This will help you ace that stoichiometry section of your exam!

I am an honors chemistry teacher (20 years). I was quick to realize that my explanations do not always mesh with every student's learning style. I love to use your videos to supplement what I do. Your style, content and explanations are really excellent and I commend you!

My professor spent a whole lecture talking about this, after half an hour I just stopped listening cause he is so confusing... and I just had to watch a 9-minute video to understand the whole thing. lol, why do I bother attending

I can NOT tell you how much you have helped me and about 6 other adult students in my Chemistry class. I have told EVERYONE about you! I can listen to my professor for hours and days and have no clue what he is saying.... I watch you for 5 minutes and have it all figured out. THANK YOU!

here is a summary:
Limiting reactant -->The reactant that runs out the fastest
Theoretical yield --> Whatever the reactant is able to produce
Steps to find the limiting reactant
1. Convert grams of each reactant to grams of the product
a. Start with given, convert to moles using molar mass, then convert the mol to mol using reacting ratio. Lastly, convert mol to grams using molar mass
2. The reactant that produces the least amount of product is the limiting reactant
a. Compare the grams of the reactants and determine what produced the least amount

I never comment on videos, but you are just so incredibly helpful. I am in a university level chemistry class, and I am so appreciative for how well you explain these concepts. I tell all of my classmates about your channel!

My teacher couldn't teach the grade in a week what you just taught me in 9 minuets. Thank you!

The quick motivational messages at the end of her videos pump me upp! Its nice to hear someone who know the subject so well admit that they struggled when first learning it.

Our Chemistry teacher went by so fast on this topic and I ended up failing the quiz! But, I still wanted to learn it and now I understand! Can you be our Chemistry teacher instead? 😂😂😂😂😂

I am glad I found this channel. We fly through so many sections in our general chemistry session that I never get the true understanding of thinking through the problems since we rush through the problems so fast. These videos have been helpful than and hour and fifteen minute lecture. Thank you so much.

I've stumbled across this channel recently and it's so helpful. My teacher goes through things way too fast and goes through a lot in an hour and a half. There's this know-it-all kid in the class as well who answers every question so I don't have the time to take things in and actually memorise or even understand things. I'm pretty sure there are others who feel the same like me so I'll definitely share this channel to them.
It's super efficient as well since it's short and straight to the point and flies at a comfortable speed where it's not too fast, yet when you pause it to do things yourself, you're not lost either. I have after school activities as well (not anymore because of coronavirus but I'm still doing stuff as I'm a swimmer so losing all of fitness means I lose 1-4 years worth of training) so to actually take the time to research things for myself is impracticable.

The way you explained this topic was very helpful and concise compared to other videos I’ve watched. Thanks Melissa! ❤️

Keep this up, this was fantastic. You're the next Tyler DeWitt in the making. Because I genuinely see a future in this channel's popularity and a future in your notes as a side business, I thought I'd leave some impressions and thoughts I have.

PROS:
-Background music was not distracting
-Example was fun and something I could remember
-Editing as a whole was entertaining to watch
-Voice-over/mic quality is good
-You gave an explanation for those who favor auditory by using the smoothie example, and one for visual learners with the problem.
-You left your handles easily accessible in the description.

CONS/ SUGGESTIONS:
-I might try to tie the smoothie example in more with what we were learning. While fun, I had a little bit of an "okay, but why?"
-Might also try to slow down in the smoothie example.
-I might consider leaving an extra problem in the description for your kinesthetic learners to be able to try on their own. If you're really feeling it, include the step by step solution as well.
-small nitpick, but the jump cuts as you placed down the paper words were slightly disorienting, and I found it somewhat difficult to keep up as a result.

Thanks again. Hope the best for you.

Thank you ! My chemistry teacher explains it once and sometimes I just don't always understand it immediately but once I understand it I get so happy . Then I have to practice it to get better at it . Thanks for the visual aids and explaining each step .
