US Intelligence believes that China is looking to establish military presence in Africa. China is reportedly aiming to build a “permanent military presence” in the tiny African nation of Equatorial Guinea. The WSJ report says that a possible Chinese threat is setting off alarm bells at the White House and Pentagon. According to the report, Beijing may be eyeing the port city of Bata in Equatorial Guinea as its military base.

Isn’t it about time China negotiated a base in Cuba you know to protect innocent countries like Venezuela from aggressive countries like you know who ?
I’m sure Africa and South America would be happy to see a very large fleet of Chinese warships cruising the Atlantic keeping people safe.
This would allow the USA to spend its own money in the same country looking after its citizens instead of wasting money protecting the world from itself.

Why would a Chinese base in Eq. Guinea be a threat to US? How about US numerous bases around China (South Korea, Japan, Guam, etc)? Africa of « interest » to France, Germany, etc… Really? Then why not invest billions there instead of wasting €€€ in South China Sea under US command? China has the right to protect her investments in West Africa.
