I actually cried listening to this song. I had a bird once. Budgies actually, the girl was brave and the boy was weak. The girl always bites him whenever he eats. Whenever I come closer the girl always goes near, and the boy would back away because he’s scared. Then Something happened. There was something that knocked over their cage and the girl escaped. I was crying so hard because we couldn’t get her out of a high tree. We tried everything to get her out and she flew away. The boy got closer to us and being so brave to come closer to us. but still is depressed. Now I know why she stops him from eating a lot because he was stress eating, he’s always nervous and she’s there to comfort him. The girl wanted him to come but he was too scared. Now that she’s gone, he’s been depressed everyday. Then one day. He died😭 him laying on the cage, it looks like he was finally free..

this song is like that one person who tries to protect everyone and tries hard to make everyone feel happy/included even if its tiring to do, and feel like its their burden to make everyone happy, and the one person who distances themselves from everyone naturally even if they want to have friends because they feel like they are undeserving, not genuine or something, then finds friends when they are lonely, but repeats the cycle all the time

I feel kind of like both of them, i try to make everyone happy and included but slowly distance myself from everyone impulsively for a few months trying to observe from afar, and i think it probably doesn't affect anyone, then try making friends the next few. like in and out of being social because both statuses are so tiring
also the song is just nice like lol

This song reminds me of 2010 for no particular reason. I was only 3 years old in 2010, and it may be because this song came out in like 2009, but this reminds me of my early childhood. I don't feel a connection to the lyrics, but to the strong childlike vibes this song gives off. It resonates with me in that way, and it makes me really want to go back to when I was a toddler. This song to me, is the embodiment of growing up. Your parents stop tucking you in at night, you don't get to be held like you used to be, and you're forced to let go of a more innocent version of yourself you'll never get back.

This song reminds me of the best friend I had as a kid..
They never told me they were moving schools in the first grade, it felt like a normal day until she wasn't there, never came again. It really hit different when the song said "They will never let go of that wire, but he's just a liar" (something like that) but without the liar part, I still remember the pain I felt without having a friend for years..

I have new friends now but I still miss her, its been years since I have seen her and hoping she remembers me :(
