Aaron Franklin Texas Style Ribs vs Kansas City Style Ribs | Traeger Pro 780 Smoked Ribs

In this video I try my hand at recreating Aaron Franklin's Texas-style ribs from his Master Class. I'm a huge fan of Aaron's and these ribs looked so good in his class that I needed to check it out for myself! I had 2 racks of spare ribs so I did 1 using Aaron's method for Texas style ribs and the other using my standard method for ribs which is a KC-ish style.

One rather large difference in this cook vs the Master Class was that I used a Traeger Pro 780 with whiskey barrel pellets for these as I do not own an offset smoker. I set the temperature to 270F and kept it there throughout the entirety of the cook.

Have you tried both of these style ribs? which do you prefer? Let me know in the comments below! If you have any tips for a better Texas-style rib, I'm all ears (or eyes in this case).

Hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching!

Here's some of the stuff I use on a regular basis and highly recommend!

LOL yeah, how the heck do pro chefs handle the meat on the grill with bare hands. Just watched the Netflix BBQ series and the Aussie dude was doing that too! Guess I'm an office softie too! ;-)
