As a Jeep GC owner, the best part about the battery under the seat is that nowhere in the owner’s manual does it tell you where they are! When I had a dead battery, I actually couldn’t find them until I looked at YouTube!

I bought the "Autostop Eliminator" for my F150. At first I was annoyed to pay $100, but in hind sight it is worth every penny. The system still works if you want it to, but this thing just defaults the system to OFF instead of ON. Love it.

Auto stop/start also unnerving when you are at a traffic light in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic wondering if it is going to start back.

I've always hated the automatic start-stop system, so I turn off this feature whenever I start my car. I'm no mechanic, but I never thought this was good for the engine (plus, it's just plain annoying).

My 24 rav4 has mandatory start and stop crap. I thought about the starter sys, never thought about the oil sys. THANK YOU!!!

Bought my 2024 mazda cx 5 non turbo for the reasons scotty mentions. Made in japan, non cvt, and had no stop start put in. I hope it lasts forever

I'm about to buy a start/stop bypass switch off eBay, at this point I don't care if it voids my warranty. I almost gotten into 3 accidents with the long hesitation from that system

Listening to a Toyota technician on YT last year and he said that there is a set number of start/stop for the starting motor, which is set to completely stop working when it hits 350, 000 cycles, regardless of whether it is worn out or not. One more reason to keep that start/stop off!

On my wife's 21Rav4 I installed a module that plugs into the auto off push button. It changes the state for me so I don't have to remember to push the button every time I start the car. Love it. Thanks for your videos.

You are right Scotty, that start/stop feature is a crock

I just purchased the dongle for the auto start / stop on my Accord. It was around $25 and took a few minutes to install. So now, instead of the switch turning off the feature you have to press it if you want to use it. I've never pressed it on.

Start stop also need a difference type of battery that costs about double or more the price of a normal battery. Any fuel saving which is really closer to less than 1%, is lost in the extra cost of the battery.

I have start-stop in my 2015 Chevrolet Impala, and it does NOT have a button to turn it off. The main battery is under the hood. The auxiliary battery is in the side of the trunk wall. Both batteries lasted past 100, 000 miles until they were replaced. Same for the brakes, which are really good! This Impala's quality amazes me! Keeping it until at least 200, 000 miles, if possible.

In 1971, I drove a 1965 Impala with a 327 and a 4 barrel carburetor and got 18 miles per gallon as long as I drove it nicely. Of course, if you went for rapid acceleration, the 4 barrel opened up all the way and you got the speed, but the mileage dropped. But that was a BIG car, I could easily seat 4 across if desired.

If you have a beemer, after 100k miles or so it congratulates you for making it so far by making it look like Christmas in the motherland on the dashboard. No need to repair anything...its just party time once you get a beemer over 100k.
