🔧 So many people have asked "Is the battery in the Katana: GO replaceable." Time to get the precision screwdriver set out and take a look. 👀

This battery should be good for quite a few years but it is good to know that a new battery should be possible.👍

I have no idea what the battery it is but if anyone can shed some light, please comment a suitable replacement! 🥰

Andy, this is a real good topic. Much of the newer guitar accessory tech comes with rechargeable batteries, which concerns me re obsolescence.

Looks like a standard 3.7v phone battery (which, fully charged and off load, can measure up to 4.2v).
If you're sourcing a replacement, be sure to get the 3-wire type - the 3rd wire is for monitoring the temperature and is kind of important.

(This info is offered to the best of my knowledge and in good faith. I accept no responsibility for half-truths, bullshit, global warming, my ignorance or your exploding Katana) :-)

This would be good to know. Rechargeable batteries are obviously good, but they should still be replaceable! 1 You may need more than one battery's worth of usage for some reason. 2 More importantly, rechargeable batters do die eventually, and it's not good to make the entire product useless when it does. Boss (and any other company) should be making replacement batteries available for easy purchase.

Replace just the cell, keep the little bms pcb. Disposable vape batteries in series and/or in parallel can replace most aged lithium cells. They're good quality completely fre

My Katana Go stopped charging. The charge light remains unlit when I plug it in. If I turn it on when plugged in, the charge light is red, indicating no power from the USB per the manual. I’ve tried different cables and power blocks. I contacted Roland support but no response as yet. It would be great if they could send a new battery, although I’m not sure the problem is with the battery. My Positive Grid Spark Go also stopped charging. What are working? My VOX Amplugs—BECAUSE THEY USE AAA BATTERIES! No more rechargeable accessories for my guitars.

But the real question is, can you sag the voltage by using a lesser battery to achieve different fuzz tones? 🤔
