So many great fantasy series that could have been adapted, but instead we got this.

The show was called Willow, and it pushed his character to the back in favor of pushing forward a bunch of new characters, most of which who were cringy and unlikable. It inserted modern music which takes the viewer out of the fantasy setting. Even established lore from the film was completely ignored (British talking Trolls). This show should be used as a case study of what not to do when developing a television series based off an existing IP.

Yep, I too tapped out after episode 2. Unfortunately there was just no magic there for me

My favorite thing in the movie was Mad Mardigan. You felt him missing from the show, especially when they kept bringing him up.

I feel bad for Warwick Davis, but he was really the only good thing about the show.

Thank goodness! What a terrible mess! More proof Kathleen Kennedy has no clue of what she is doing and has caused Disney to lose billions of dollars in reshoots, flops and 5 years with no new Star Wars films.

This is how we show studios what we want or what we want to support. There is no need to go after actors and producers with all this hate. Let's not just watch and believe you me that will be more productive.

The problem is it wasn’t a Willow show. It was a random teen fantasy with questionable music decisions, costumes that were way too “clean”, dialogue that belonged on the CW …and also happened to have characters from Willow in it, too. There wasn’t enough love for the initial movie. The original score was extremely underutilized. The tone of the original movie was nowhere to be found. The story, on paper, was actually fine… but the execution was super meh. I still enjoy some of it as a Willow superfan… but it’s just not Willow.

Saw a very positive review when this premiered, so I was hopeful. Even rewatched the original to get prepared. Within the first 5 minutes I knew willow was trash. As soon as the princess gave her speech about not being able to be herself I knew it was the same old unoriginal junk wrapped in a now wasted IP to lure in viewers.

I kinda feel bad for the team making the show, because at the end of the series they teased 2 more Seasons.

If Lucasfilm under Disney was able to ruin franchises such as Star Wars and Willow I’m scared to see what they have planned for Indiana Jones. They better not touch American Graffiti

Using todays music in a high fantasy series was a mistake. The script was bad. The clothing was strangely modern. Too many love triangles/interests in the group.

The sets looked good. The visuals were nice. But this one couldn't be saved from itself.

I don't mind at all about diversity... inclusion... women empowerment and all that stuff if it's implemented correctly.

But I do feel Willow implemented all that for the sake of all that and put story 2nd.

How can peoples from different geographical area... different cultures in Willow are all diverse.. all have black, brown, oriental and white people in it... you can't differentiate which clan are from which clans... and that is one of the problems with the series.

A shame but the writers & showrunners dropped the ball. It simply wasn't good. The show focused on the new, obnoxious characters & Warwick was barely in it - a mistake considering how good he was in _Life's Too Short._

We've really got to abandon this mindset of giving things a chance all the way up to the end. The paint is peeling off that façade quite badly now, because "storytellers" are either using the first two or three episodes to fool audiences before they pull the rug out or just completely phoning it all in because they know there's this inexplicable, paradoxical onus among viewers and/or fans to sit through an entire season of something.

Yeah, no. If your show hasn't sustained interest by the second episode, it doesn't deserve continued viewing. And that's if your show's marketing even piqued my interest.
