When it comes to fast food, there are several chains that are easy to come by, no matter which part of the U.S. you’re in — McDonald’s, Burger King, and Popeye’s can all be found on highway exits across the country. But some fast food chains can only be found in specific parts of America.
Different regions are known for different cuisines, so of course their fast food chains are going to reflect that. The next time you’re traveling through each state, be sure to stop at one of these chains, because there’s no telling when you’ll come across it again. These are the absolute best regional fast food chains in every state.

What do you think is the best regional fast food chain in your state?

I grew up in Wisconsin. Culver’s is RIDICULOUSLY good. When my family moved in the the early 2000’s, there were no Culver’s near us. Once they finally started opening locations within a day trip of us, we went on a pilgrimage to eat there 😂

Cook Out has grown exponentially in Georgia over the past several years. The first one I tried was in Athens, and I fell in love with their great broke college student menu and the B-list drink I never knew I needed in my life: Cheerwine.

Braums is one of the best reasons to visit Oklahoma. Their shakes are fantastic!

That was a huge miss with Illinois. Portillo’s is our best fast food chain representative.

Cookout!!! I still remember my first meal from there when I moved to NC in 2011. Good times!

As an Alabamian I've never heard of Milo's. You should've used Jacks to represent Alabama as they are more popular and according to Google Milo's has only 20 locations which is a massive difference to over 200 Jack's locations and comparing the menu's online Milo's menu is just oversimplified burgers and chicken nuggets. But Jack's actually has traditional Alabama food and a bigger menu with lots of different choices some more simple like a BLT, or more traditional like a Fried Green Tomato sandwich

I used to go to the original Braum’s location with my grandma in OKC every summer when I visited her. When it came up so high on your list I wasn’t surprised, their spices are awesome

In Massachusetts we have Friendly's, tasty burger, deangelo's, Kelly's roast beef, and Moe's Italian sandwiches.

I've never ever seen or heard of boloco. That is not a regional fast food for massachusetts. Maybe just a couple small spots in Boston, but that's not everywhere.

Texas resident here, there are literal billboards adverting Whataburger saying “you’re almost there” just outside Texas’s boarders🤣

Nice to see The Habit (California) get some much-deserved recognition here. Everything's fresh, tastes great, and the service is top notch.

Nailed Mississippi. We've got a Wards here in the small town of Wiggins. Love the Big One with Chilli cheese fries

Living in South Carolina, it’s so nice to see Rush’s on this list! It’s so regional that it’s not even in the Upstate, but I sure love a Rush’s milkshake when I’m in the Columbia area.

I agree with Mashed about Habbit vs In N Out in taste, but the price point and quality you get from In N Out can't be beat

Pro tip: Avoid the chain chili parlors in the Cincinnati area(Skyline and Gold Star) and seek out one of the local joints (Blue Ash, Camp Washington, Price Hill, Pleasant Ridge). Your experience will be much better.

Also as far as a regional chain goes I would recommend Swenson's. They have locations from Canton/Akron to Columbus.
