Thanks for this video. In this video you say about connecting by talking about something in common, like here it was a university both studied at. If one does not have any commonality, what he/she needs to do to start of a conversation.

As a recruiter myself the only thing I would have to disagree with is the blacklisting comment. While we may get annoyed with the constant emails our job is not to prevent anyone from finding a position so we would never blackball anyone it’s simply contradictory to what our job is.

It's simple. Just reached out to them. Recruiters are salespeople. They need numbers.

I believe that would be useful to add CC (Subtitles/Closed Captions) to your videos. Your talk is quite fast and for a nonfluent English speaker, some words can be missed. There is also a great opportunity for non-English speakers to more learn and practice the English language with the CC option.

What if the only commonality is the firm in which they are working for? I mean, the firm in which they are working for, is the same firm I wish to work for in the future. How to go ahead with the connection request then?
