Great tutorial. I'm going to wrap myself in a cocoon of bubble wrap while trying it.

Literally stopping on a dime, the absolute stopping power of a Stoppard stopping in a stopping tutorial.

Bill says that fall wasn't the coolest looking thing ever, but I always get distracted by how jacked his calves are.

Bill, I love what you do. I love your style. I love you tutorials. But most of all, I love that you showed yourself fall! We are all falling, nice to see a master do it to!

Nothing more satisfying than pulling of a good parallel slide!

The advice - put all padding and do it for 45 minutes - was gold. Just did it - put everything (helmet, crash pants, elbows/knees/gloves guard) and just went for stopping. Worked well - i.e. turning to stop at low speeds seems ok now, gotta do it on high speed someday as well. Thing is - with so much padding and a goal to DO just that for a long period- the mindset changes :) Thank you.

I'm getting back into skating after 4 years recovery from an injury (ankle and knee) and your videos are so helpful! I skate in a quiet place but where cars can randomly appear every now and then and I needed to find a sharper way to stop for safety! Thank you!

I actually had a hard time with this until i started ice skating. It's much easier to learn the hockey stop "power stop" on ice skates. The main key point for me is to remember to keep your weight forward on the front foot. If you lean back your feet will slip right out from under you lmao.

I just got back into skating off of a 9 year hiatus, and you are one of the reasons that I chose to roll again.
Keep making amazing tutorial videos and teaching the future generation of bladers.
I appreciate everything that you do.
Time to work on my B - Stop.

To avoid "dragging" (lunging) into the stop I "shift" into it, and I do the same for powerslides, similar to how boxers do to pivot arround. Watch how Mike Tyson pivots, but instead of moving to the side like boxers just turn. Put a foot slightly in front and put your weight slightly into it then shift stance in the opposite direction to that foot.
Was never able to drag myself to a powerstop at higher speeds, only powerslides, but by pivoting, barely jumping, I feel like I have better control.

Thanks for including the footage of you messing up. Makes me feel a little better about me messing up all the time.

This is the best looking boot I’ve ever seen. I’m not talking about the color, which is fine, but that shape looks like it fits like a glove.

It's like Youtube knows I fell like a stuntman last sunday and decided to help me learn how to stop.
