Hey, guys! I know that a lot of you have been requesting a video of my pre-med or med school journey. Although I have unique pre med experience as I did an accelerated 7-year program, there is still a lot of insight for me to share with you,. This video covers everything from high school to college all the way to med school. Basically how I got into medical school and my premed journey.

Initially, this video was over 2 hours long and we were able to cut it down to 20 minutes so I can expect for you to have some questions left unanswered. Leave me your medical school questions and comments down below as you know I love to respond to them in my monthly videos.

After hearing your story, I couldn't love your philosophy towards life more. Being positive, experiencing everything and loving your own career are things you teach me in this video clip. Though I am not a doctor, I think your suggestions are suitable for every job. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Looking forward to watching your next video!

"I wasn't the most studious kid in high school"
"I would sit down and memorize pages word for word"

One of my reason of becoming a doctor is because a friend told me that i will not survive in med school. Now he’s no longer in med school and i’m stuck being an actual doctor.

I'm only a highschool student and I don't even want to have a career in medicine, but everything you said here is such valuable advice... I'll come back to this video. You'll probably never see this comment, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Saw this video four years ago and I felt like I found my purpose. Three years of premed down now and going into my senior year. Thank you, truly.

I just want to encourage everyone here, it’s NEVER TOO LATE to go to school. To put your education first. I’m 21 and just starting prerequisites for med school. I knew someone who went to med school at 50 years old. it’s never too late, be determined, be strong and do it!

You’d be a great professor if you ever chose to teach. You’re very efficient at explaining complex ideas.

I'm so glad you said that part about medicine being a community. Even in nursing school we had "gunners." I never understood putting others down in school or showing someone up. Some people just don't realize they're going to end up working together as a team after graduation. I was the study group creator in nursing school and found it was easier and more fun to learn as a group and quiz each other on content (snacks included obvi). It was super helpful to learn how my classmates study and tips for studying more effectively. Boards are hard, but having a study buddy makes it easier.

That is an unreal level of commitment. The memorizing, fast tracking med school, committing so hard to the residencies and even the current diet... Idk what's driving you but it's pretty powerful. And rare.

Dr Mike was lucky to have his father. We are lucky enough to have Dr Mike.

I started Pharmacy school 4 years ago when you posted this video. I am graduating next May but I plan to pursue medical school after that and it’s extremely daunting because I am already going to be 27 years old by then. After hearing you talk I feel much more motivated because I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. I love medicine and I am highly curious about our body and the way that it works. I also listened to your video on the difference between MDs and DOs and after that I am seriously considering DO school. Thank you for sharing!
