So management is the reason that the only things I know about Cloudflare are:
1. They have that lava lamp wall
2. They will 100% try to trap and extort you if your business uses them and you become somewhat successful

Today I got pulled over when commuting to work, I thought I was done before because my license has been suspended for a month for past overspeeding offenses. The officer asked me "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I knew I was done for but I replied anyways "I was going over the speed limit?" but to my surprise the officer said this:

"No, the Cloudflare Sales Team wants to talk with you."

Poor management starts from the top down. If the company is to do better, they have to replace everyone at the top. All these companies fire a ton of people at the bottom and remain with a bloated top that drives the company into the ground.

Many jobs ago, there was some new development. I saw a critical flaw in the design and proposed a solution.
Management pulled the "we have decades of experience" and some veiled insults. 2 years later the fail case happens, we lose money, we lose clients.
Management conclusion: "this is your fault, you knew this would happen years ago and you didn't do anything to stop it." I simply quit by the end of the week.
It's never management's fault. Even when you have it in writing that you informed them bad things would happen and they choose to ignore it. It's you're fault for "not being persuasive enough"

My doctor told me he had some terrible news and that I should come to his office right away. I was mortified. I was thinking the whole half hour drive about all of the possible ailments I might have. Was it a blood clot? Could it be a thyroid disorder? I thought for sure it was cancer because my family has a history of skin and brain cancers. I arrived at the front desk, was escorted back only to find DAVE FROM THE CLOUDFLARE SALES TEAM!!

Got an uber last night and it was the Cloudflare Sales Team, had to go enterprise or no go on my destination, 5 stars.

At the start of the year I was in a position to be in the purchase meetings for cloudflare on the enterprise plan. And I can tell you that of the 4 sales employees we were in contact with, 3 of them had no idea what their product is. We digged more through their own wiki documentation in the days we decided which product to use. It was so bad, that after 3 meetings we had to get an engineer on board to answer basic questions. You could tell he was uncomfortable that his colleagues did not know the basics. I am sorry, but I can 100% understand if these people get fired.

So this actually happened today, I was sitting in a Starbucks minding my own business then they called my name my latte macchiato was ready and I walked up to the counter but to my surprise my latte was not ready and the Cloudflare Sales Team was there ready to do a quick call with me

The problem as i see it, they have no proper tier system. Its free, 20, 200 and enterprise. With no specified limits, so if you get a 20 or 200 tier, when do you hit a limit, when does the reaper appear with a 10k/month "pay or be terminated". I see services pull that crap and it creates a instant "lets not use that service for critical infrastructure because the rules are unclear". Every story about CF pulling this "enterprise" crap, simply reinforces this unclearness and means lost potential clients who may have payed for a 500 tier, a 1000 tier, a 2000 tier, where they knew what limits are in place. But this "unlimited" (with hidden limits that can change one day to another, is a bane in the industry).

Soon as I hear KPI, I vomit a little that this person who's job it is to create an excuse for a meeting just so they have time to bill for, is gonna have the gall to call out mfers for not working hard enough. Especially when working harder means more aggressively milking the customers to sell them on products that don't solve as he said a "real issue".
