Yeah, story of my life, man. We tend to cycle in and out of hobbies. Precious few have remained interesting to me.

Hey, I just finished your amazing book and I wanted to say a huge thank you for giving us something like this for free. It has helped me so much and I can't thank you enough for it. Your hard work is totally valued 😄

There are two 'hobbies' that I keep coming back to that can impact others in a joyous way. Baking/cooking and also knitting. Clothes and food can impact others, in my experience, in a good way.

These are wonderful ideas for keeping our commitments feeling fresh. I have been married for 23 years and a mother for 22, and I couldn't help but think of how important it has been to apply this kind of thinking to those relationships when they "hit a wall." Thank you, Bo!

I found this video very confirming, thank you! I have hit the wall a number of times in my 73 years, and I've used each of your seven coping skills successfully, though I could not have listed them and explained them or even have seen them as techniques before listening to you. You are a good teacher! I

If it gives you joy, it will always stay important. Set goals, standards, reach out, share and make it meaningful.

This is so true for me! The problem I have right now is finding something new to catch my interest.

Looking back I see where I have hit the wall at times. Totally agree with community energizing and keeping us INFJ's going. Sometimes rotating through different interests has been good for me. Laying something aside for awhile and going back to it later makes it fresh and often gives new insight. I appreciate the way you speak my language, Bo, and give practical helpful solutions on what to do when we hit the wall. So encouraging to see all the INFJ's here!

This is incredible. Thank you. Such a valuable video for me. I’ve always been known as a “Jack of All Trades, Master of None”. I’m old enough now too that I can reflect back and know what it is I keep going back to in terms of interests and hobbies, and what I’m passionate about. Really great advice regarding perseverance.

I feel like this applies to anyone, not just INFJs. I’m an INTP and I feel this way right now.

yes, very much so. I do sometimes come back, often, but not always.

Global politics and eschatology as always peaked my interest. One can't master it - it keeps surprising you. It's also relevant - important actually and new every day!

I generally loose interest in something when narcissistic people come along and interfere. Example I converted my Passat to electric after several diesel engine swaps, tested it, drove it around on the farm, started preparing on finishing it and a member of the family made a comment about the cost of batteries and I just lost interest in the project on the spot, that was 10 years ago. Last year I bought a Unimog and because of a comment by the same person, I parked it up and haven't touched it in 15 months... genuine INFJ mind set.

I do this so often. As soon as I have conquered it I start looking for the next thing.

Wow, I never realized that about me. I mean I always saw that I became like a new person every 6 months or so, but I never thought of it in this way.

Bo, you have outlined several effective tools for the INFJ wall.
(tools I have employed and continue to employ)

I personally wish that there was an underlying *solution* (not what feels like ongoing and exhausting bouts of symptom management). I'd really like some explosives for the INFJ Wall.
Employing the many tools it takes to "manage" my life at any given time does not allow me to feel like I am living my life. Things get accomplished, but I am hella tired, soul-crushingly bored, and feel no real satisfaction.
If I feel like I am "living", the outcomes are giant wakes of chaos. Although I feel much less bored and more satisfied (though I am not "accomplishing anything"), I am a huge liability. (sounds rather "grippy", tbh)
Would like to find the one dang thing (Ikigai) to do/work on that ticks all the dang boxes enough to where soul-crushing boredom is not exhaustingly pervasive.

*I spy the MBTI certs binder.

I spent 30 years learning tennis, now, no one in this rural town seems of interest. It takes 2. Now, I've given up despite being high level rated.

I’ve been very gifted my whole life. I master things immediately, retain the knowledge, then move on to some other challenge. There are a few hobbies I’ve kept over the years that I have an on/off switch for. And I don’t think it’s bc I have hit a wall with them. I just find an obsessive interest in something else that I haven’t been doing for 20 yrs. And then 18-22 months later, I’ll go back to the other 20 yr old hobbies. And then something else piques my interest and the cycle continues.

So true. I cycle through interests every 1-2 years. Once my learning and discovery seems less than edifying, I grow bored and move on to a new topic. The phrase, "Jack of all trades, master of none" applies to me perfectly (although I master it fairly well).

Thank you. The key was "what activity do you keep coming back to?"...and since I still get paid to do it every now and again...I have my answer. Thank you and Blessings!
