I’ve been living in NY for 14 years all you need to do is not talk, have headphones on, never buy water dogs, and stay in Queens/Brooklyn cause Manhattan is cancer and Bronx is a dumpster fire

Can confirm. Nyc changed me in both a bad way and a good way.

Bad: more impatient at stores and markets, unintentionally "rude" at times, sidewalk rage
Good: always down to help a stranger, less shy interacting with strangers, public transport is no longer weird/scary to me, better sense of direction
