LA is a place where people go to make movies about what actually happens in NYC

As an LA area native, I say this would be a good idea for a reality show. Send a group of LA people to NYC and a group of NYC people to LA and film the struggle to figure out living in each.

This video is misleading. NYC is comprised of several boroughs, each with their respective demographics and cost structures. The average across all the boroughs is lower than the average of living in Manhattan. LA, is also made up of several neighborhoods (ie, West Hollywood, Westwood, Santa Monica, Culver City, Venice, Hermosa Beach). The list goes on. The analysis provided by this video is too broad and filled with assumptions. It's not a 1-1 comparison.

New York is not just Manhattan there’s more boroughs which is a little cheaper than Manhattan.
Also NY is not no place for people who think it’s easy here. New York can break you.

You can tell this video is made by someone who lives in LA. NYC is more than chaos & pizza. Nothing compares to the liveliness and culture you experience eating outside on a summer night or relaxing on a Sunday in one of the many GORGEOUS parks.

The housing prices are way off for New York. It says a one bedroom is 3, 157 and a two bedroom is 2, 427. Makes no sense and is not accurate anyways.

78% of people in LA drive, where in NYC owning a car is optional. That makes the cost of living in NYC way cheaper by far.

The $100 a month you spend on gas would be spent on a monthly MetroCard ($121) in NYC. That doesn’t account for the roughly $5000 you’ll be spending annually on car insurance in LA.

You completely ignored the fact that you don’t need to own a car in NYC compared to LA and many other cities. That saves a ton!

There’s also multiple boroughs in New York the further you go from Manhattan, The cheaper it gets.

The reason why we New Yorkers Rush is because we need to make a train or a bus there's always some place to go

NYC is where people rush to go nowhere and LA is where people relax and get their work done on Thursday lol

They were way off on a price of a NYC two bedroom apartment—they must be including some of the outer borough neighborhoods that have not been gentrified yet and that don’t appeal to millennials.

One bedroom is cheaper in Queens, and it’s RIGHT next to Manhattan.

The thing is. If you look at the $1 Million dollar homes. NYC you get a studio or 1 bed room apartment. While LA, you can try to get a house or a very nice condo in the downtown area

In both states, you’re paying heavy taxes. Miami, Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas are really the best places to create wealth and to have something to show for it. Florida is really the best. No state income tax, affordable housing, and always warm. Technology these days allows us to work from anywhere in the country and gives you the opportunity to generate wealth on your own terms. I’ll visit NYC or LA for a cheap round ticket before ever living there.
