Still learning to edit! I figured out how to make slides! Next I will try to figure out how to make them less cheesy looking.

I like to pause Youtubers videos before they make their picks so I can evaluate the cards myself. I find gathering my own thoughts on a pick first makes it more interactive and easier to learn when the content creators choose differently.

Arena is giving some freehistoric draft entries since tomorrow, might be a good time to try premium draft.

As far as other limited content creators, I personally have liked Nizzahon Magic’s limited set reviews. He will go through each card in the set and at the end also makes a video going over the draft archetypes in the set (generally one video for the 5 colors, one vid for multi color/colorless/lands, one vid for archetype guid) he also does a list of the cards he things will be the top 10 bombs in the set, and a generally does a video going over the cards he was wrong about in a set.

Just the deckview switch concept (which I knew about, but had never thought to apply to limited during a draft) was worth the watch! It was all great but that one really took me off my feet

After seeing you flipping the deck layout back and forth and commenting on picks based on curve I have been trying to use this feature more. Especially in packs 2 and 3 it really helps me focus on my curve, maybe taking a slightly worse card to help my deck play better overall.

I also finally got to attend an in person pre-release event. The pre-release box comes with a little sheet that gives a general overview on building a limited deck (number of cards in each CMC slot, overall creature to spell ratio, land count, etc.) I’ve kept this on the table while doing Arena drafts and have noticed it also helps me focus on my deck overall, instead of just whatever might be the best card in the pack.

Thanks for all the tips!

Thanks so much for the advice! Super helpful with the free historic limited this month. I was planning on drafting just to get some cards, but I followed your advice and got 5 wins!

You could also draft a good agro strategy with 2-4 drops. I think a killer guide would be to explain cmc curves per archetypes, touching a little more into how to read your passes, and when you should undoubtedly switch your picks. That last part gets me a lot. I try to just draft a good curve if I miss key cards and that seems to do me well. Good vid tho!

I just got back into magic after 12 or more years, funnily enough I'm way better that I'm not a teenager anymore despite how much time I spent playing back then, and I'm not half bad but I feel like I'm hitting a wall in selection, when I luck into the right position I can do pretty well. I really like the tips in this video and happy to have found this channel, last time I looked for this kind of video all I found was beginner tips but these were good high level ones.

Thanks for making the drafting process feel so accessible Nerdgirl! Limited has become my favorite ways to play magic because of all the work that you put in for your videos. You are cool! 😎

Iphone here. Wow 123 views in only 25 minutes. You've certainly built up a huge following. Great job.

Looking like the Baroness with the Cobra shirt! Fuck yeah! Thanks for the insight. I am a horrible drafter.

I agree most of the value from learning comes from the picks and deckbuilding process. I also think leveraging data such as 17lands, untappedgg, or limited grades. LSV is good, but since he is human I think he can get it wrong, and he unfortunately rates before playing and doesn't update his ratings. Early on it is still helpful. The paid portion is more objective with AI machine learning, but you can do it manually with limited grades or 17lands while drafting. Also the rare/mythic is sometimes mistake when there are powerful uncommons or commons there - you really need to review how strong it is - some are beyond busted, but others pale to the uncommons in the same color. synergy is important, but I think taking cards that non-situationally strong isn't bad and just take the strong colors and cards if open. Staying open is vita.

I think a good additional point about giving yourself space to learn while drafting goes beyond just drafting the cards. Different limited formats can play differently from each other, so not only should players new to drafting give themselves space to learn in drafting their deck, but also in playing with that deck. Knowing how to play constructed - even being really good at playing constructed - doesn't always translate directly into being good at playing a limited format. I've met quite a few folks over the years who kept up standard for years and had lots of success, but when it came to drafting they just assumed they sucked and couldn't learn because they were only focused on learning how to draft the deck and spent no time on learning how the limited formats played as well.

The main issue I experience in draft is that I cannot resist the temptation to chose the cards I do not have in my collection yet / complete the 4 copies. Due to this, my final deck have the 5 colours 😅. Anyway, as a new MTG player, draft is the format I enjoy most.

I love watching your draft content and this is a great beginner video. I have learned a lot from watching your content and now consistently get over that 3 win hump to get the value for premier draft! I am a F2P player that used to just use quick draft to convert gold to gems and now draft and sealed are my favourite formats and wish I could play them more often! Keep up the great content!

Great tips from the person that got me drafting better. Way better. Unfortunately, I like to rare pick and run draft decks larger than 40 cards...but that's just how I have fun(don't do this to win!).

Last season I managed to finish collection minus the mythics rare drafting lol. I even pulled some 7 wins doing that. Fell in love with limited tbh.

I love #5 the most. I was pretty hard on myself until I saw LSV going 0-3 with a BW deck that had the mythic blue dragon 😆.

a tip that I learned the hard way is to not draft when you're in a bad mood. I have been on a roll recently but yesterday I went 1-3 and the audio for the recording didnt work... but I then tried drafting again and went 1-3 again but I think I was rushing it cause of how I was feeling
