Most likely it could’ve been an extremely slow moving galactic entity like a pulsar, quasar or magnetar that points towards us every couple hundred centuries to millennium. Either way 72 seconds is an absurdly long time considering most Fast Radio Bursts only last milliseconds but most of them do have a specific amount of time between receiving each burst from the specific target. All and all it may have just been a case of right place and right time

Edit: Ive seen a lot of people questioning the microwave aspect of the FRB, a possible explanation of how the signal ended up in that range is due to redshifting (the further away something is the more visible light gets shifted to the infrared spectrum), this process also stretches out wavelengths of radiation to lower levels therefore changing the strength of the radiation

I’m kinda sad that I won’t be able to experience what life will be like in a couple of million years. It’s one of the things that I’m gonna miss and makes me mad that I won’t see if we’re gonna have like crazy intergalactic space travel or something.
