MVD operation. Botox treatment for Hemifacial spasm treatment is temporary and does not address the primary cause. Botox injection for Hemifacial spasm need to be repeated every 3 to 4 months, and can cause facial paralysis. Operation is the only cure.

This is what I have. Hemifacial. Twitching on the right side of my face. A MRI showed I have a nerve wrapped around an artery in my neck. It twitches almost daily now so if I can't get the sleep I need, less stress and not living in the moment, I may need to see neurologist for botox treatment or possibly surgery. It's bothersome, embarrassing and hard to concentrate when it happens. From my right eye to my entire right side of my face with tension on my neck muscles now it has progressed. I live in Canada. Hello Dra Panchawagh. I've been suffering from heneficial spasm for 7 years. In 2019 I started BOTOX treatment as advised by my Neuro doctor for 4 years. Until I decided to do MVD surgery on Mar 1 2024. Since my operation which is 6months now I still suffer mild hemeficial spasm not as severe as before but I'm still not fully spasm free. My surgeon said that he's willing to do surgery again but I'm not very open for it. My question is will my condition still improve eventually? I've been following your videos and came across one topic that is it's better to stop BOTOX before surgery. I had mine January 2024 and my surgery is March 1. Will that effect the outcome of the surgery? I had my surgery here in London if that helps. Hoping for your response. Thanks
