Door Strike plate hole - Quick Fix

This goes over the common Strike plate hole quick fix. Doors get changed and buildings shifts can have people enlarge the hole or just over time the wood gets destroyed around the whole. Don’t rebuild the frame. Do this quick fix.

Thank you so much! I have been trying to figure out what to do with a front door that opens to the inside but is exactly like this. Now I have the solution. I dreaded having to replace the whole door frame.

they sell smaller thinner plates, bent at a 90degree angle along the length, that can be placed first. this prevents the door from being pulled open partway before it meets the plate. then you can add that stronger plate you have there, over it. I would drill the screw heads as well, so that someone can't just remove them with a screwdriver.

Do all prefabricated buildings have their doors swing outward? Isn't that a security issue with the door hinges on the outside and there is also less material on the door frame to prevent forcible entry?

Some one could just take an electric screwdriver and take your board and plate off...

That's one way of doing it as long as you don't care how it looks. Next time just bondo it.
