🧛‍♂️ What happens if you SAVE Hroggar from Alva in Skyrim? #skyrim

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you left Hroggar alive in Skyrim? Recently, I was progressing through the central questline in Morthal, where the goal was to save the town from a vampire threat. At one point in this quest, I needed to retrieve Alva's diary, a vampire who had enchanted the will of an innocent man named Hroggar, who resides in her house and immediately attacks the Dragonborn if he enters. But what if you don't kill him and just take the diary, while eliminating Alva who enchanted him? I decided to test it out. I picked the lock, broke into Alva's house where Hroggar awaited me. Seeing me, he immediately became aggressive.Instead of resorting to violence, I used a calming spell. After he stopped being hostile, I descended into the basement, eliminated Alva, and secured her diary. To complete the quest and see the outcome, I then had to confront a powerful vampire residing in a cave near Morthal.

I think breaking in by day also works, because he's working and she's asleep. That's how i managed it anyways

The most impressive thing about this game is the amount of 'what if' style thought and planning put into it. It just begs multiple play throughs and decisions.

You can also accomplish this by waiting until he's at the mill working to break in. If he's not there, he won't attack you. It's kind of neat to protect him, but it doesn't accomplish much. Guess it's just a matter of preference for some people.

I do find it weird that part of his job under her spell is to protect her as she sleeps during the day, yet during the day he's working and at night he's protecting her empty coffin...

You can avoid making him hostile at all by selling him firewood before even starting the quest. Making him friendly and getting the same results

I've literally never killed him. Just... go while he's at work. LOL

I managed to keep both him and Alva alive. She helps you in the cave.

I loved Skyrim, it ate up most of my teen years but I do wish they had more than 5 voice actors

I never killed Hroggar, never thought it was an option

And if you dont kill her, they just leave together like nothing happened xD

I didn’t even know killing him was a thing people did. He’s either gone or asleep every time i enter.

You could have just waited until Hroggar went to do his job at thr sawmill

Not killing Alva results in finding her corpse in the cave near the bedrolls as she compromised the operation.. still, it was mostly Lisette's fault as she burned the house down and tried to turn the daughter; even Alva wasn't happy about it

If you do it at night and or/ she survives and flees to Movarth's lair...on you starting combat there she turns invisible and hides in the back corner where Movarths's boots are.

You can also spare Alva, she just doesn't leave that cave

All you have to do is chop some wood, turn it in to him and he won't attack you if you break in to Alva's place.

I always use a calm spell or just sneak past him by leaving then reentering stealth as soon as he notices me. Somewhere along the lines I literally forgot killing him was even an option 😂

On my run i got lucky as both Alva and Hroggar were not present at their home. And I found both of them walking around town after the mission. I never knew you had to kill them both lol
