I’m wondering what could happen if Kojima, Junji Ito and Ryukoshi07 worked together…

The first thing i noticed about the SH:F announcement was that Ryukushi already wrote something very similar to Silent Hill.
Ryukishi07's manga Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro Ni features a family gathering in a rural town for a funeral. A thick, impenetrable fog blankets the valley. The body they came to mourn disappears. and the sun seems to have duplicated. From there, it's a survival horror journey through the japanese hell, Jigoku.
(takano was there too.)

I really hope there's at least some references but it would be better if there's a hidden connection. R07 loves connecting all his games as some sort of multiverse.

Silent Hill F is nothing but another exciting gameboard/Fragment those witches to play with to cure their boredom.

The "F" in Silent Hill F looks closer to a "forte" symbol in music. Dunno if that has anything to do with it, but something I noticed.

I hope this Silent Hill F will ever be released - and is not, in fact, cancelled by now... (same as for capcom's Pragmata)
also, geezus the enlish Higurashi dub / voices are awfully, bizarrely unfitting considering the character's looks.

I can see him making small references here and there, probably to Ciconia or some child of man quote somewhere. I think he will keep the references light, out of respect to Silent Hill, but maybe that is why they brought him on too. He doesn't really make much connections between his own work in the same series, it's nothing too explicit and hard to understand even how it should be interpreted. He's a big fan of forcing you to think so he hardly gives answers and he will lie and use red herrings.

You probably won't finish Umineko before SHF is released though it is insanely long and Higurashi is also long. Umineko is a blast though savior it and try and figure it out.

I'm just going to make the obvious point that this, as promising as it is, should have been a new IP instead of leeching off of Team Silent's work.
But then again we live in the age of franchises, and this maybe couldn't even have been made without the backing of a big name like Silent Hill.
So the villain of this game might be Neoliberalism who turned the world economy into this

I hope he has the guts to connect the Silent Hill verse to Umineko/Higurashiverse lol. I wouldnt want characters crossing over, but references in notes and such would be best way. Imagine a letter mentioning the name "Kinzo" visiting Silent Hill, Maine a decade or two before when Umineko takes place (1986), having met with the cult. Or a poem alluding to Featherine in a note. The game being set in 60s already makes me wonder since late 60s is when Bernkastel started doing her main thing iirc. If they do crossover in slight ways, i hope Silent Hill is set in main "real" world of Umineko rather than the fragments of Higurashi or other works by same author. Maybe the SH games are all a very, very indirect gameboarding and setting in motion of the witches to alleviate their boredom. Guess Featherine watched a little too much Jacob's Ladder haha. Man i can only hope.

I never played a Ryukishi07 game (though I am planning to do that in the future) so I have a question: Would you say that Higurashi and Umineko are as fucked up as something like Saya no Uta ?

As for Featherine, yeah she OP. She could definitely stomp DBZ verse. The most powerful Gods of Lovecraft would stomp her, but she still would rank pretty high, similar in level to Nyarlathotep. Gan, JUDY and a couple others do rank higher tho from other verses. Only non omnipotents i know of that might stand a chance is lore Kratos, lore Dante from DMC and lore Elder Scroll protags such as Dragonborne

As a Higanbana fan, if you ever decide to read it, please read the visual novel, not the manga. The manga is kinda meh... and incomplete. And was also drawn by a hentai artist so they sexualize literal children...
