Yoda could even use both sides of the Force at will. He could have been more powerful in the Dark Side to wipe out every Sith Lord that ever existed, and at same time still train Jedi's. Yoda's biggest mistake was not doing what Palpatine did; telling Anakin about the legend of Darth Plageuis.

I always felt Yoda had achieved true balance in the force, mastering both light and dark. The true wisdom of Yoda is that he could go either way, but he chooses the light side because he knows it is the right path.

I have to argue George Lucas on Luke Skywalker being the "Greatest Jedi". Yoda never was tempted by the Darkside (Clone Wars in consideration) but Luke has had his weak points both in Canon and EU stories. Yoda is the G.O.A.T
