There's a lot of chihuahuas in shelters in the US?! I had to pay out the nose in the UK to find one, checked shelters for 2 years and couldn't get one. For me personally they're the best dogs in the world. Intelligent, loyal, loving and so funny.

I adopted a 5 year old chi myself, they're very intelligent, affectionate and eager to please and protect their owners. He might be the smartest of all the dogs we had in the past.

Nice training tips, thanks Brandon! I always select older dogs - lower energy, no chewing, no bouncing, no constant attention needs, no puppy immunizations, no potty training, are you kidding? Best dog for adults, but not so much for rambunctious kids. So glad Lolita got a good home. Lovely dog! I think one of the reasons they dash out of doors is because they never got walked enough at previous owner.

I have a small chihuahua but she is now 7 I had her when I was 9 so I never really understood that I had to train her now we have a really good friendship so I want to train her she can understand (I suppose) Spanish and English like I can tell her go down or up the couch or let’s go (she would go to the door to go outside Bc she knows I mean let’s go outside) or let’s go in to go back in the house in Spanish or English but she doesn’t know sit stay paw but she knows lay down and no that’s about it she doesn’t really know the basic commands
