I’m getting all of my past photos off of my college laptop from ten years ago (it was pre owned so it’s probably 15 years old) which is still running on windows 7 because I’m afraid one day it won’t turn on and was having trouble copying them to my external hard drive. This video helped a lot! It’s copying right now but it isn’t copying shortcuts like it was it’s the actual photos so I’m very hopeful. Thank you for making this video!

Jamie you are a great teacher. I never have used the copy paste technique before. Only doing that for documents or copy pasting information printed. I have just drag and dropped when managing files. thank you. .. One thing I would like to be good at managing mp3 files for music. ripping and then transferring to computer and of course back up. Don't want to lose :). I'm a little above a "beginner" with doing basic things.

On my windows 7 PC computer, and before going to open up MY PICTURES and search for the folder where I will paste my iphone pictures and videos, how can I have the two pages on the same pane so I can manipulate the whole process. Up to this point your advise and lecture has been very helpful, instructive by all marks. Thank you, so much.

I DO have 2 questions but first I want to say how much I enjoyed the way you teach. You speak nice & slowly & repeat things. Some of us need that.
I had no idea how to find out how large my picture files....now I do. Thanks
Now the questions. I noticed you use PICASA. Me too.
1) How do I transfer my pictures being sure that the tags, captions etc will be included? None of the Picasa instructions are ez enough for my brain....hopefully, you will know an ez way.
2) THEN to continue getting those that are transferred into the "thumb" drive into a new PC?

Thank you so much as very helpful to older guy trying to learn more as my main computer has a flash player problem and I have to restore it but did not want to lose pictures and documents that I had made since the restore point so I was able to load onto a scandisk to save and then can reload onto refreshed computer

Thanks, Jamie. You can also highlight all the User folders you want by holding the Cntrl key as you click on each, then rightclick Properties for the group and see the size of the folder group. Then just drag the group to the stick or drive to back up your active user folders, providing you are organized enough to sort your files into the User folders which is the best way to keep track of things.
