➡ You can also use iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc. to automatically sync your iPhone/iPad files with your Windows PC. The method covered in this video allows you to sync directly from your iOS device directly to your PC without needing a cloud storage provider, iTunes, third party software, a clunky cable, or a subscription. This works especially well for large files, like lots of photos & videos, that you want to transfer to your PC or to your iPhone/iPad.

Why does everything with iPhone have to be so complicated? On android, I literally connect my cable to my PC and it opens up all my files without any process or 3rd party app, this is so stupid, I might just go back to using my android.

I have watched dozens of videos about sharing from PC to iPhone and vice versa, but only this video that is easy to follow and very clear. AND ultimately works! Thank you Kevin!!

Thank you so much! Every time I searched for this information, it led me to a generic app that always had problems transferring large files and always resulted in corrupted files. I just wanted a more straightforward way to do this, and you gave me that information directly and without beating around the bush. Great video, I just subscribed to the channel.

It's rare these days to experience an instructional video that has no pesky missing steps and wild cursor movements with marginal narration that have me constantly rewinding and freeze-framing. This time, it was one time through, and success. A most ingenious solution, too. Thank you!

Holy crap. I can't even begin to say how thankful I am for you making this, and how well it worked is astonishing to me. I remember the good old days of plugging in your phone to your computer and using itunes to transfer everything, and more recently, I've been backing things up with Google Drive, OneDrive, and other similar programs. But in my line of work, I am constantly transferring files back and forth to various phones and computers, and this is basically instantaneous! You just saved me and countless others a huge amount of time and trouble. Thank you!

This might be the single most useful video I have seen in 2023. The only thing that was weird for me when going from iphone to PC was if I save the folder directly the the "transfer" folder, nothing would happen on my PC. So the work around was going and finding the server first and saving the file to /server/transfer and then it works perfectly.

Kevin great tutorial ! Very easy to follow and you did a great job going step by step to make even the novice user able to complete this. The only thing you did forget which admittely is an advanced concern, is that on a home router, typically ip addresses are not static. Which means that each time a device restarts, the router may assign a different address than the last time. It's called Dynamic Allocation. In order to make the IP address specific to the laptop every time, you would have to go into your router's configuration and manually add both the hardware address of the laptop's NIC and the IP address that you would like assigned everytime. This would ensure that your technique would work the same as it did the first time, and the 50th time for that laptop connecting to that network. Now this technique of setting up a static IP address is a little bit more involved and requires the end user knowledge how to configure for their particular router. Some of the other suggestions of using cloud based transfers in the comments are a little more fool proof as they have apps that allows access to sharing of files (which don't involve making changes to router configurations). I have to say...I've used your technique and I do love it.

I connected my PC to my iPhone with the help of this tutorial and it was way simpler than using any file transfer application.

Great information and it works great! Couple questions and comments: 1. The iphone properties of the files (date created, modified) aren't transferred (even with the option active) and the dates are all the date of transfer to PC. 2. After about 1000 files transferred, the processed froze. 3. Some video mov files were transferred with extension HEVC and aren't playable without a paid codec by Microsoft. None of the above happen with other more common methods to transfer photos to PC. Is there a way around for this great otherwise method?

Kevin, since 2005 when I started with my first Apple product, namely the iPod, I never liked iTunes for Windows based PC's. I've always searched for alternatives, well 17years later and my search is now complete because of your 8min video. Just BRILLIANT. Many Thanks from 🇿🇦South FYI, I did this setup for my ipad and not an iPhone and it works 100%.

This is awesome! Amazing guide, well constructed in the perfect level of detail! This is also the only guide I’ve seen that includes setting up a separate user account for securing access. Thank you so much.
