I did keto for a year and now been off it a year and still struggling with all these issues. I never had blood sugar issues until I did keto . Has made my life hell !

I'm really beginning to realize that balance and moderation are major components of a truly healthy diet. Without them, you could be eating highest quality of foods (e.g., organic, plant-based, wild caught, grassfed, etc.) and yet still be doing serious, even irreversible damage to your body. Hi Peggy :) The keto diet that I have studied recommends moderate protein intake, not high protein intake. I restrict my overall food intake but eat very nutrient dense foods. I have basically blended the best of keto with your recommendations to enjoy optimal health. At age 52 I have stellar health and biomarkers of a woman half my age. I love your recommendations and although I have not gut health issues feel like your suggestions allow ANYONE to thrive. Ty❤️

I tried keto many, many, many, many times . . . never worked for me, I always felt awful on it, could never get my electrolytes balanced, super drained. I realized I need more carbs for my adrenals (or whatever reason). I am now losing weight pretty easily using calorie restriction and I feel great.

If keto os so bad then why are they using it to shrink cancer tumors? I am not dogmatic when it comes to diet though I have done all the “recommendations” and ate all the “healthy” foods and have never felt as good as o have felt cutting out the carbs, not even always strickt keto….anyway🤷🏻‍♀️ for me seasonality is key…our ancestors would have had access to fruits and plants in certain climates and in certain periods of the year, the rest of the time they would hunt animals and plants would be scarce(difference. Between winter summer etc)

when you do a video on what ppl should eat, it is always good to clear your intentions, are you interested in what is the optimum diet for a human or are you trying to do what you believe is ethical for other animals thus sacrificing the health of your fellow humans? Bcs when you talk about “ethical” in a nutrition video i think you confuse what is actually optimal with what you wish was optimal so you can feel better about yourself.

Also, regarding the ecological aspect i think you ate misinformed. Eating only plants is catastrophic for the environment and pretending that the only animal lives that matter are cows and pigs lives when thousands of animals die to creat farmland for plants is hypocritical.


Im calling vegan propaganda alert. Decide what you are, a health channel or animal activist channel.

I am curious, are we being encouraged to be vegetarian? Or meat is still included in your recommended diet? For people like me, not using animal protein can actually kill my body. I am not on Keto diet or any other diet because I don't believe that one diet is right for the whole planet. I believe every person functions differently and their diet must be different based on how they are made. I am hoping to find a specialist who can help me with my digestion issues without telling me I need to be a vegetarian or a do only Keto etc. I am quite stuck at the moment and am suffering lots when eating fruits and vegetables but I really want to be able to eat them because I really like them. But I can't quit meat either because without meat, I can simply get into a coma and not wake up from it... it has happened many times before as a child to the point where I had to eat lamb brain every day to recover.

I am confused. Listening to Dr. Eric Berg on the keto diet and then this video confirmed my confusion. Can you and Dr Berg communicate with each other and then advise the Listening public of the correct health solution??

People feel better on a keto diet because insulin is low. Humans can live without carbohydrates.

I am here because when i went off a keto diet i found i was suddenly egg intolerant/allergic. The pain is unbearable for hours. While on the diet and before i never had an issue with eggs. I had a feeling it was gut related, so im searching everywhere trying to find out how to fix this or atleast lesson the symptoms.

Great thankx Peggy. Always good info.Keto diet is something that never sat well with me. I could never do it as i LOVE fruit wayyyy too much. We eat fruit salad for dinner every night, even when its winter. Its just so good! Follow your gut feelings..yup! Kind regards 🤗

Interesting video. I am on a keto diet with intermittent fasting. What I like is that I have no cravings for food anymore. I am wondering if I would switch to a low fat plant based diet, if the cravings will come back.
